For those who didn't know: If a new character appears in the story that doesn't belong to the show and was created by me, you always have a little more information about the character in Chapter 1.

Have fun reading :)

I quickly averted my gaze when I see him looking back at me. He noticed that I was staring at him, how embarrassing.

Then I try to find some topic for a conversation so that I can lighten up this embarrassing situation, but I suddenly hear a sound and stare at my phone.

„The game is starting.."

I mumble under my breath.

„Registration is now closed. The game is about to commence. Difficulty, four of clubs. There are a total of five participants. Game: Distance."

„Distance?"

I hear Arisu, looking up to him for a moment before staring back at the phone in my hand.

„Rule: Endure the trial while striving for the goal within the time limit. Clear condition: Safely attain the goal."

„What is this?"

„The game will now commence. 120 minutes remaining."

Silence.

Each of us is trying to process what the voice just said.

„Does.. this mean we have to run? What do you think Elyan?"

My gaze moves up, and I can see two of the guys are looking at the guy who is very familiar to Elentya.
Elyan tilts his head to the side while staring at the screen of the phone.

„I think so... Distance: Zero."

I can her him mumble. I can't help but stare at him, he looks just like her. Just like Elentya.

Is that her brother?

„We have to run? On the highway?"

One of them gets up frantically and falls down again while whimpering and groaning in pain. Elyan stays where he is and just stares at the guy, while the other one places his hand gently on his back.

„Takuma. Just relax."

The guy walks quickly past me, Usagi and Arisu, to the front of the bus. Elyan slowly gets up and tells the boy in pain to sit down.

„I think these old buses from the '70s all have V8 engines."

I turn around and raise an eyebrow.

„What the hell are you talking about?"

The boy just turns his head towards me and looks at me with hatred in his eyes.

"You don't know anything about engines?"

"Why should I?"

"That's right. For you, a non-functioning engine isn't a problem anyway. As I know The Night, you take all good cars anyway, so you don't have any problems like that."

He looks up and down my body again to draw attention to my outfit again.

„The Night? What's The Night?"

Arisu asks.

I don't answer.

A cold shiver quickly runs through my body and my gaze immediately shifts to the guys wrist, who hates me for a reason. He doesn't wear the typical bracelet that everyone at The Beach wears. I thought that maybe he hates me because he is my enemy, but that's not the case. Why else he hates me, I have no idea.
Maybe for stealing cars.
