Natasha POV -
"Luke, keep your eyes on the road dammit," I told him as we were driving to the party. He just smiled and those cheeks I adore appeared to have a rosy tone. Luke Hemmings, the boy I just swooned over, my best friend. Just my best friend though, he had a girlfriend, and though I tried to talk to him out of the hurt she'd cause him he'd just say he loved her. I wish he loved me the way I love him. "Nat," he pulled me out of my dream of unrequited love. "We're here!" he was so excited. Lately, all he's been doing is drinking. Going out with a bunch of random people, having fun, but I knew there was something else to it. I just couldn't figure out what.
We walked into the house and were instantly greeted by the smell of sweat and smoke and booze and puke. "Natty what do you want tonight?" I told him I wasn't drinking tonight, that I'd be the designated driver, and with that he was off to get drunk. I searched until I found Calum, who was already quite shitfaced.
"Calum, I'm telling you this because I love you, but you do know you have a huge dick drawn on your face, right?" I laughed at him, his eyes seemed as if they were about to close but that's because he was too drunk to keep them all the way open. "Fucking damn shit," he slurred, the red solo cup in his hand partially spilling as he made over-the-top gestures. I just put my arm around him and tried to lead him to Michael and Ashton, who were sat on the couch. Michael had some blonde on top of him and Ashton was staring at the ceiling, singing - or attempting to sing - that one song from Titanic. "Sit with Mikey and Ashton, Calum, you need to chill," I said in an over-protective manner. He very sloppily kissed me on the forehead then flopped down on the couch.
This house was gross. There was stuff everywhere and people everywhere and it just wasn't my setting. I only came because I was determined to ask Luke - drunk or not - what's been on his pretty mind. I knew it had to do something with Veronica, his girlfriend, but I also didn't know. He was unpredictable sometimes, and others he was easier to read than a grade three book.
People kept pushing past me as I walked through the hallways. Sometimes I like coming to parties just to watch. Watch people make mistakes, hear them say things they don't really want others to know, watch people fall in love during spin the bottle or just genuinely having a great time. There is always that one person who needs to just be away from everyone while they're drinking though, because sometimes the alcohol burns the demons that live in the bottom of the belly.
I walked up the stairs to wet my face in the bathroom due to the heat, when I was dragged into a storage room by my ex, Alex.
