Jieun's POV

"Take care of yourself always, sweetie!", my dad told me as I gave him a hug.
"I will! Dad.. can I ask you something before you leave?", I asked him.
"Sure! What is it?", he asked me.
"Will it be ok if I can stay over around Chaehyun's place for a moment while you're gone? She asked me herself if I could stay at her place for a while so that it won't be too lonely for me..", I said.
"Sure! And I know that her mom's gonna take good care of you!", he said.
"Really?", I said as my eyes lit up in excitement.
"Mhm! Just don't forget to keep yourself safe always!", he told me.
"I will, dad!", I said.
"I have to go now! I don't want to be late for my flight!", he told me.
"Alright dad! Take care!", I told him.
"You too, sweetie!", he said as he grabbed his luggage with him and left.

A month or two without him is so boring and lifeless! I thought to myself. It was just 11 am in the morning, and I'm so bored that I do not know what to do today to kill time. I've packed my things already so I could stay over at Chaehyun's place. A few minutes later, I received a message from Chaehyun.

ChaeChae: Hey girl! What are you doing?
Me: Nothing. Why?
ChaeChae: Well... Gaeul and I, along with my mom, are waiting for you outside the entrance of the lobby. Are you ready? Are you done packing?
Me: Yeah yeah! I'm done packing! Sorry!
ChaeChae: It's ok!
Me: Thanks Chae! Be right there in a minute!

I immediately grabbed my bag, luggage and keys with me as I stepped out of the door, locked the doorknob as I rode the elevator. Dad may not be here with me for a while but atleast Gaeul and Chaehyun are here to help me deal with my separation anxiety. I thought to myself with a smile. The moment I got out of the elevator, I immediately saw Chaehyun, waiting for me outside the lobby.

"Hi Chae!", I said as I got out of the door.
"There you are!", she said with a smile.
"Sorry for being late..", I said.
"No worries! I'll help you with your luggage!", she said as she grabbed my luggage.

I helped her place my luggage behind the car as we closed the trunk together and went inside. A few seconds later, her mom immediately started driving the three of us to their house.

"Hi auntie! It's been a while!", I told Chaehyun's mom.
"How are you doing, Jieunie?", she asked me.
"I'm doing great!", I said.
"By the way.. thanks for allowing Jieun and I to stay over at your place for a while, auntie!", Gaeul said.
"Of course! Chaehyun and I are more delighted to have you two in our home, even in just a short period of time!", she said with a smile.
"By the way.. what time will you meet up with Sunghoon?", I asked Gaeul.
"At lunch..", she said.
"You better make yourself look simple yet presentable, girl!", Chaehyun said.
"Of course I will!", Gaeul said.

Jay's POV

Now how am I going to face Jieun after what happened yesterday? It seems like her resentments towards me is slowly starting to grow once again! I thought to myself as I stared at the ceiling of my bedroom, thinking of some way to prove her that I'm no longer capable of doing the same thing to her, and so, I had no choice but to call Heeseung hyung.

"Jay?", he said on the phone.
"Hi hyung! Are you doing something right now?", I asked him.
"No, I'm at home, resting! Why?", he asked.
"Hyung.. I just.. need some advice right now..", I said.
"Why? What happened? Is this about your dad?", he asked me.
"No! It's about Jieun..", I said.
"Oh! What about her? Did something happen between the two of you?", he asked.
"Well.. I was able to open up to her yesterday but then, she got mad when she found out the reason why I treated her badly. I know it's stupid but—", I said, only for him to intervene.
"Well, I can't blame her. I'm sure she would understand if you provided a detailed explanation why you acted like that, but I can't judge her opinion because the way you acted towards her was very childish..", he said.
"I know, hyung! I don't even know how I'll be able to face her in the next upcoming days. She isn't even convinced if I really did change or I'm just pretending to be kind..", I said.
"Well everyone can see that you've changed already but.. I can't blame her if she still has trust issues about you! Just.. give her time to heal her heart and mind, and to learn how to trust you slowly since you gave her undeserving wounds.", he told me.
"I will, hyung!", I said.
"If only you also told her your backstory, maybe she would deeply understand and know you even more as a person. Besides.. Jieun's also not the type to tell your secrets or personal problems to anyone.", he said.
"How did you know?", I asked.
"Well.. Jieun was once my classmate back in 2nd year high school, and there was a time that I told her about my backstory. After that, she promised me that her secrets are safe with me and gave me some realistic and helpful advice. Are you doubting that Jieun would judge you and just tell to the whole world about your abusive and painful childhood?", he said.
"Uhhh.. no? I trust her one hundred percent, hyung!", I said.
"Then go grab the chance to open up to her! You know.. you both need closure from one another. That way, she could understand why you turned out like this and maybe you might also understand and find out why Jieun's also hesitant and scared to enter in a commitment..", he said.
"I will hyung! Thank you so much!", I said.
"You're welcome!", he said as he ended the call.
