Seaside Promenade
Lena checked her watch for the 10 time in the last five minutes. They had agreed to meet at six, and it was now 10 minutes too! Was she lost? Lena had arrived at five. Then there she was.
Ava waved. Elana and Maya were tagging along behind. Holding hands??
"Hey, Beautiful," Ava said giving Lena a long kiss," I missed you."
" I missed you too." Nodding her head at the two behind, "What are they doing here?"
"They insisted on coming along. Although they promised they wouldn't cramp us."
"Let's go then. I booked us a table that overlooks the harbour."
Hooking Lena's arm, "So romantic... Let's go. Bye, you two." They waved off Elana and Maya, and left.
"What are we going to do then?" said Elana.
Pulling Elana along, "I know a great place! Let's go!" said Maya.

Ava looked out across the bay, then looked at Lena. She couldn't believe that just a short while ago, she didn't even know this woman. And now? She had love that she had never experienced before.
"Like what you see?" said Lena. Ava smiled casting her eyes down.
"I love it." she mumbled.
"Eh? Didn't quite here you?" Lena mocked.
"I love it... I love you...Did you here that?"
Lena bit on the fork in her mouth, and looked out the window. "I love you too," she uttered.
"What was that?"
"I love you too!" Lena stuck her fork into the steak she was eating, then put it into Ava's mouth.
As the dinner progressed, talk turned their future aspirations.
"I've applied to join the Olympic swimming team," Lena mentioned.
"Really?" Ava exclaimed. "So did I! Maybe we'll get in together?"
Holding Ava's hand across the table, " I'd really like that."
After dinner, the walked along the pier stopping half way along. Ava leaned on the railing, her hair blow by the breeze. Lena reached out and tuck some loose her behind her ear, and cupped her cheek. She lent in, giving her a soft kiss. Lena looked at Ava intently.
"I'm so glad I met you..." Before she could finish, Ava hugged her tightly. "I feel the same."
Meanwhile, over at a burger truck...
"Try this... and this... and this!" Maya stuffing a variety of food into Elana's mouth.
"How is it? Good, right?" ask Maya. Elana nodded, her mouth full of food.
Maya reached out, and wiped Elana's lips with her thumb, "You've got some sauce right, there." Pausing, Maya held Elana's cheek and lent in slowly. Elana closed her eyes, she also lent forward giving her tacit approval.
Maya gave her a lingering kiss, then pulled back to watch Elana. Her eyes were still closed as she was savouring the kiss.
"You really are stunning, Elana." Maya moved in again, this time the kiss was more passionate, her tongue licking Elana's lips. She could taste strawberry of her lipstick.
"Mmmm, tasty."
"What do you think Elana and Maya are up to?" ask Ava.
"Stuffing her face with burgers, if I know Maya," laughed Lena.
The night almost over, they walked to the street to catch their respective ride shares.
"I had a great time tonight. It's a shame that I have training early tomorrow. Otherwise..." Ava smiled shyly. Lena pulled her into her arms, kissing her lips deeply.
"Are you sure I can't tempt you?"
"You could," returning the kiss, "but I really can't afford to." Ava put on her best 'sad' face. Lena laughed.
"Go... before I drag you home," Lena said, giving her a slight push.
Reluctantly letting go of Lena's hand, Ava started to walk down the street. Lena, blowing a kiss and waving, prepared to cross the street.
The lights changed for her to cross. Lena stepped out onto the street, looking up into the night sky. She had never been this happy before, the smile on her face proof.
Walking in the other direction, Ava touched her lips as she smiled to herself.
SCREECH! The sound of car tyres skidding across the ground.
Thud!
Ava turned, fear creeping into her heart.
"Lena! No!"
