Spring break

Kai

I woke to the sound of my bedroom door opening since you could hear it squeak sometimes. I lifted my head from my pillow and looked to see KK and Jana.

"Hey girl!" KK yells as Jana hits her shoulder, telling her to calm down. "Why are we in my room at..." I pause to look at my clock, "9am? During spring break?" I say as I sit up and rub my eyes.

Kk goes and sits on the bean bug that I have in front of my closet door. Jana then sits on the edge of my bed. "The team wants to get breakfast together, we tried waking you up earlier but your door was locked and your phone wasn't ringing," I turn to look at her, confused since I never lock my door, not even when I'm changing.

Flashback | 2 hours ago

I heard a knock on my door, and as I let out a low groan, I felt my bed shake a bit, and so I rolled around to look beside me. "Paige?"

"Go back to sleep, I'll get it," Paige's raspy voice made me feel a lot of things, but I'm half asleep, so I try not to let it get the best of me.

I let out an "mhmm" and lay my head back down. "Goodnight, Kai," I say goodnight back, and after a few minutes of silence, I hear Paige unlock my door and quietly leave and close my door behind her.

Back to the present moment~

"Oh shit," I say after I realize why my door was locked. "What time are we going?" I finally look up at Jana, "probably 30 minutes from now."

I looked under my sheets to make sure I was perfectly appropriate. There is no need to hurt the eyes of the freshmen.

"We'll leave you be so you can get ready, dress casual," KK says as she jumps up and drags Jana out of my room, closing my door behind them.

I got out of bed and picked out a blue basic tee, Grey cargos, and my Nike blazers.

I go into the bathroom to do my skincare, brush my teeth, and fix my hair a bit.

I walk back into my room to grab a purse, my keys, wallet, and my airpods. After gathering all my stuff and taking a few pictures, I finally walk into the living room where everyone is gathered.

"She's finally ready," Ice says as everyone stands up, I guess they were waiting for me. "Let her be," Nika says as she wraps an arm around my shoulders.

As we all head out and situate who's driving and who's riding with who, it was about 9:40, and we figured we needed to hurry up.

"Paige, you can take Kai, Jana, KK, and Ice," Paige and I turned our attention towards Aubrey, who was situating the rides.

Jana, Kk, and ice look over at Paige as she signals them to enter her car. Paige places her hand on my lower back, guiding me to the passenger seat, opening the door for me as I say thank you.

"Someone besides Jana can get the aux," Paige says as she starts the car. "Bro," Jana says as she just sits there.

"It's ok, Jana, I don't think your music taste is that bad," I reach to grab her hand as she takes in, and we interlock our fingers. "Thank you," she says as she acts like she's crying.

"Girl boo, I'll take the aux," we laugh at kk as she hooks her phone up to Paige's car.

"Ok, but where are we going?" Jana asks after a few minutes of silence.

"IHOP," Paige says.

I decided to go on Instagram and post a mirror selfie that I took this morning with a sza song. After my story had uploaded, I came across a post that Kate made and uploaded two hours ago.
