Inside the conference room of the National Aerospace Research Institute of Shanghai Space Science Center, JX Chief Designer, Guan Zai, waited patiently for the Panel to decide on the SK-1 proposal that he and his teammates of Unit 158 had just presented.

"After much consideration and discussion, our panel unanimously agree that Proposal SK-1 is both innovative and refreshing." Director Hu began. "However, aerospace belongs to systematic engineering project. The prerequisite of your proposal is an engine with high specific impulse."

Upon hearing the panel's decision of denial, J-X General Chief Designer, Yu Tu, looked heavy laden and downcast as he made his way out of the meeting room with Guan Zai

Upon hearing the panel's decision of denial, J-X General Chief Designer, Yu Tu, looked heavy laden and downcast as he made his way out of the meeting room with Guan Zai.

"You hardly spoke a word today," Guan Zai tried to break the silence.

"Do I usually come across as chatty?" Yu Tu asked a rhetorical.

"Just now in the Q&A, you sounded so eloquent!" Guan Zai tried to banter back but treaded carefully, still trying to figure out his colleague's moodiness. "Now you are snapping back at me. Is something biting you?"

When Yu Tu didn't seem to have a response to give, Guan Zai continued. "Thought we prepared for this result, didn't we? After all, we anticipated it would take more than one attempt to see this through."

After a moment, Yu Tu finally spoke up

After a moment, Yu Tu finally spoke up. "It's not because of that."

As if given a slim line of opportunity into his friend's inner feelings, Guan Zai tried to pry further. "True! You have been brooding over something over the last three months."
