Chapter 9

"Kai! What happened?"

Kai's friends rushed in the fitting room and opened the curtain, and to their surprise, Kiernan was half naked while pinning Kai to the wall, it created a misunderstanding ,and it got worse when they saw Kai's expression, it was their first time seeing him as if he was frightened and anxious with a hint of sadness. They never saw Kai with that kind of expression.

A sudden surge of emotion came through Jett's body, he suddenly pushed Kiernan away from Kai and hugged him as if to protect him. He then shouted at Kiernan with so much hostility.

"Just what the hell were you doing?!"

Even with so much anger on Jett's expression, Kiernan didn't care and and just walked past him and grabbed a shirt. As he was putting it on, he glanced at Kai who was in Jett's arms, they made eye contact and Kiernan glared at him. Kai flinched as he furrowed his eyebrows.

"You're crazy... Were you trying to sexually harass Kai? It's a good thing I was watching Austin the whole time"

Wilder scoffed at Kiernan as he past by him and went out of the fitting room. He was unbelievably nonchalant as he sat on the couch as he crossed his arms.

"Kai... Are you okay? Sorry, I didn't know he was into you.."

"Austin.... Stop pouring oil on fire"

"What did I -mmph!"

Wilder sighed as he muttered at  Austin's ears and covered his mouth because of how dense he was in the situation they're in.

Jett glanced at Kai that still had a depressed complexion. He questioned Kai in a soft voice.

"Kai, are you okay?"

Kai glanced at the clothes that was piling up on the table. He was trying to avoid the question... He was far from fine. He was gaslighted and felt terrible that he helped a murderer.

It was confirmed a while ago before Jett and the others came in.

"You... At the church... We're those ... Corpses?!"

Kiernan was taken aback by Kai's reaction. He looked horrified in his point of view... But he didn't said anything, instead, he grinned and laughed hysterically.

"HA... HAHAHAHAHA!!! .... Are you scared?"

Just thinking about it made Kai shudder. Now, he's determined to keep Kiernan close to him so he wouldn't do any harm to his friends.

He suddenly walked towards the pile of clothes and took all of it, then he turned his head to Jett.

"I'm... Okay, he didn't do anything to me, anyway, Jett is it okay if I take all of these?"

It took awhile for Jett to answer. He sighed and smiled a bit.

"Of course, I'll pay for it though"

"Sure... Thanks"

All of them walked out of the fitting room, Austin and Wilder suddenly blocked Jett with Austin's arms spread wide by Wilder.

"What are you doing?"

"You'll pay for ours right?"

There was a moment of silence before Jett could answer.

".... Sure sure.."

"Jett!!! You just rolled your eyes right?! That's bad! That's bad! You have to be generous y'know, this is a once in a lifetime experience for us!... Please buy it for us!!!!"

"Austin! Stop clinging, you'll look pathetic"

Austin Smith was holding on to Jett's arms and was forcibly pulling it, and Wilder was stopping him...

"I said 'sure sure!!!' don't you get it?!! My arms hurt!! Let go let go!!"

Meanwhile, Kiernan who was watching them the whole time couldn't help but stare at them in disbelief with his mouth wide open and furrowed eyebrows. He thought 'should I just kill them?' he sighed in frustration with how annoyingly loud they were.

"Kai, why don't you just let him stay at my house?"

Jett asked Kai in such a worried tone, they're currently outside of Kai's apartment. While Kiernan was watching the building, Kai and his friends were having a last-minute conversation.

"Yeah... I mean he looks interested in you"

"Austin.. shut up, Kai wouldn't fall in love with that ugly bastard"

"I fell in love with you though..."

"What?!"

"Can you two shut up?! We're having a serious conversation here"

Kai exhaled in relief as he smiled at their constant bickering. 

"It'll be fine.. he didn't do anything to me, we were just talking"

They turned their head at Kai who was smiling at them. They smiled back in relief. Jett moved closer to him and tapped his shoulders.

"If something happens, just make sure to call us, we're always ready to put him at a mental hospital"

Kai laughed at Jett's jokes, well.. maybe it wasn't since Kai thought of that when he first met Kiernan.

He waved goodbye to his friends as they drove away in Jett's car. His smile instantly faded away and turned to Kiernan.

Kiernan was still staring at the whole building, he was amazed but also felt empty because of how much time has actually gone by as he spent his whole life in that hellhole with only corpses to look at.

"What are you doing?"

Kiernan turned his head to Kai who was frowning. He felt an ick looking at him and couldn't stop furrowing his eyebrows.

"Is this your house? It's quite big"

".... It's not my house, it's an apartment, many people live there and pay the rent, including me"

Kai answered as he walked towards the apartment building, it was only 6 stories tall but the exterior design was good.

As Kiernan follows Kai in silence, they stepped in an elevator, Kai immediately pressed the button to the fourth floor, as the elevator moved, Kiernan was stumbling.

"Wha-what is this?! Why is it moving?! Ugh, my head... Why do I feel dizzy?"

Kai sighed as he looked at Kiernan stumbling and complaining, he reached his arms out at him, Kiernan glanced at it and glared at him.

"I'm offering an arm to help..."

Kiernan ignored him and saw a handrail at the wall, he immediately held onto it and was trying to stand straight. Kai secretly smiled, he found Kiernan's stubbornness as he struggles to stand straight funny.

"This is your house? Even the church is bigger than this"

Kai sighed and remembered that even though Kiernan lived in a church full of corpses and dusts, he remains to be  a high- maintenance guy.
