Chapter 14

To be honest, I already finished this chapter like, two months ago, but was hesitant to publish it because Im not too confident in it. No matter how much I want to rewrite this chapter, it will also affect the other drafts so I didn't bother changing it. After all, I can't spend any more time on this than I already have to.

So understand if it's not to your liking that much. I'll just have to try my best in the future chapters to make up for this.

Yesterday was too much for Tanjirou.

After they broke the gourd, they followed Makomo in some kind of room and listened to her explanation about their next step. And after that, he was forced to have a talking session with both Zenitsu and Makomo.

After he managed to survive those, he was called dumb by Aoi as they stumbled upon each other. And after that, he couldn't sleep at all, thinking what was going on with people around him.

That said, they forbid the three of them from doing anything out of her instructions. Shinobu went and visit them on their room to check how they're doing, bht she also left immediately since she has a mission with Kanae.

She warned them not to do anything unnecessary that will make their stay here longer. She was specifically strict to Zenitsu and Tanjirou. Tanjirou is one thing because he really done something stupid before, but Zenitsu also does something unnecessary that irritated her aside from being annoying.

He just took out their goldfish in a room that he shouldn't have known, and showed it to Inosuke and Tanjirou in a whim. Inosuke almost grabbed the fish out of the aquarium if not for Aoi.

Zenitsu and the boar got beaten up by Aoi for dojng that without permission, and the news reached Shinobu, who 'gently' lectured Zenitsu amd gave Inosuke a death stare. Luckily for Tanjirou, he was on a roof that time.

The three is now on their way in the Recovery Training room while constantly keeping the Total Concentration Breathing. Now that they've improved their lungs a bit, it's a lot easier to do it. They don't feel that much pain from doing it. Zenitsu especially doesn't want to experience Tanjirou pain at that time.

"Hey, Tanjirou. Do you think there'll be any difference now?"

Zenitsu was talking about if they can beat Kanao now, or if they will still lose.

"I don't know. But I'm feeling confident."

"Hah! You scared, Monitsu?"

The three are doing well in keeping the Total Concentration Breathing Constant. Their talking isn't cut off by their own breathing. It's just a first day of them trying, but they're already doing pretty good. Especially Tanjirou since this isn't his first time trying this.

"It's not like I'm scared. It's just that, if we can't even beat her despite the effort, why are we even putting that much effort?"

"Are you dumb? To become stronger, of course." Inosuke replied with a blank face.

"That's what I'm talking about! If we can't beat her, can you really tell we've gotten stronge?! Why can't you get what I'm saying!"

"Just because you lost doesn't mean you're weak. Look at it this way, Kanao is someone we can't beat. And that makes her strong. But Kanao couldn't also beat a Hashira, so does that make her weak?"
