"All I can truly remember from these moons was playing with my mother. The other kits weren't my type of playmates."

Opening his eyes to the warm scent of his mother, his fur on edge as a cold tongue rasped over his fur, dust flying off his tortoiseshell pelt. "Blegh! I'm already clean AlderBreeze!" His fur lay covered in dust as he gazed out to camp, the clearing seeming so much bigger than it was. "Can I go out?! Aspenpaw is out there! He said he'd show me the camp when I woke up!" With an exasperated sigh, Alderbreeze gave him a nod as the older kit scurried out and past Aspenpaw to a small ant hole in the wall."Ooh! ASPENPAW, look here!" Shouting into camp blindly calling for his guide. "What is it, Beetlekit?" Alderpaw's words echoed through camp to the kit, not used to the outside much. "Oh... ants..How delightful." The apprentices' words became a chuckle. "They look so pretty, Aspenpaw. OOO! There's something else!" He turned his attention, followed by aspens, to a cicada which landed on the kits nose with a squeal. "Look, look, look! It's so pretty. Is it a budderfly?" With a sigh, Aspenpaw spoke."No buddy, it isn't a butterfly. Now, I think it's time for you to go back to the nursery. My mentor is calling me." With a nudge back to his mother, his friend leaving camp for training.

"So, what's it like being so small, I could just smush you." His voice was small yet imposing. "I really like your spotty pelt." The ladybird just stared at him, eyes shimmering in the sunlight. "I've heard Aspenpaw talk about the other clans. Some apprentice he called pretty." The ladybug fluttered onto a nearby leaf, which got batted. "When I become a warrior, I'll be named beetlebug! The other kits say I'm weird, but I don't think so, I just like you." He would yawn, looking to Aspenpaw sitting at the clan's meeting spot. Padding over after he heard a call."Let all cats old enough to leap the trees gather beneath the Tallstump for a Clan meeting!" Echoed through the camp as cats gathered round, Littlespots, the -Quite large- warrior sat beside his apprentice as Tempeststar leapt up to the tallstump, his deputy and medicine cat's closeby, leaving the apprentice having stares on him. "I, Tempeststar, Leader of skyclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look upon this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I condemn him as a warrior in his turn." A silence emanated through the air as he spoke again. "Aspenpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?" And as Aspenpaw replied with an "I do" "Then, by the powers of starclan, I give you your warrior name. Aspenpaw, from now on, you will be known as Aspenfall. Starclan honours your determination and patience, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Skyclan."
"Aspenfall! Aspenfall!" Voices rang out through the clearing as the new warrior was named, and his parents licked and groomed their kit, reminding beetlekit of his own mother, who he snuggled up to with a yawn. "It's nearly my time. I'm a big cat!" A slight whine was whispered as he was carried to the nursery to his sleep.
