A moon later, Driftstar was back on the Outcrop Log.

"Two kits have reached the age of six moons. Frostkit and Hawkkit, please step forward."

Hawkkit took a step forward with pride, and Frostkit followed with her bushy tail held high.

"Hawkkit, you have reached the age of six moons, therefore you shall be called Hawkpaw from now on till your warrior ceremony. Your mentor shall be Stormfang-" Stormfang groaned, "-unless he has a major problem with that..." Driftstar stared at Stormfang intensely, and his ears folding back. Even Stormfang was scared of Driftstar when she did that. "Alright then. Frostkit, form now on until your warrior ceremony, you shall be known as Frostpaw. Your mentor will be... Silentfrost!"

Frostpaw looked over at the white colored she. She was mute, but perhaps her being disabled would be good for Frostpaw so she would train with someone who understood her. Silentfrost smiled and Frostpaw smiled back warmly. Hawkpaw sighed deeply. His own abusive father was his mentor! What bad luck!

Frostpaw gently bumped her shoulder into his and murmured, "I'm sorry, Hawkki-paw."

"It's not your fault," Hawkpaw muttered back and gently licked her nose as a thanks anyways. Frostpaw looked away with a light smile.

"All right, that's all, clan dismissed!" Driftstar calls out.

The cats walk off to continue talking like before the meeting. Hawkpaw and Frostpaw both exchange a glance, and she squeals with excitement. He laughs.

"Excited?" He asks with a grin at her excitement. She nods vigorously.

"My mentor is great- can't believe they're mute! It's fair though."

"Ya know, if you ever need extra training, I'm here." He chimes in with a smile. She smiles too.

"That'd be great, thanks."
