Discovering truths (Legacies: Book 3)

Chapter 16

"What's the order?" I ask.

"Have you learned about World War 3 yet in history class?" My aunt asks me. I nod. "As you may already know, people in a country called America weee angry. They didn't like the government and had their minds set on their ideas of how things should be done. The leader of this order wanted the power to himself. In 2099 the president was assassinated and he made himself president, due to being to vice-president at the time it was by law his 'right'. This started a war in the country when the people who didn't agree rebelled. It was easy vs. west. Soon countries from all over the world started to join the battle. Eventually the west won. The new monarchy was put in place by the name: Moravian."

"Our now royal family" I add.

"Exactly. So pass forward to your mom's time. she and your father had been great friends since they met. Even so, like I said that their plan was put in place because they wanted to get away from their duty and responsibility irresponsibility to be together. It was supposed to happen their senior year. Then... murders start to happen. of course this is already happened before at the school. But it was more like every few months, maybe twice a year. But it started speed up. Worried for their safety they said their plan in place earlier than they intended. This didn't go well when something stopped in their plan."

My Aunt took a breath before continuing, "Your father wasn't able to escape, but your mom could. so right before graduation she left which went perfectly right that night of murder happened. Which was the reason your father couldn't come. Because the murderer had killed his little sister... they made a promise to meet back together soon. After he finished school. Moving to where we used to live in our old hometown, she was adopted by my family, which should been a part of their original plan. there she lived with me and my family until your father came and got married and secret... but sadly, their story didn't get a happy ending..." my Aunt stuttered. " he would visit once a month. Nothing more due to the excessive amount of work. Your grandfather, his father, passed away right after graduation that summer. They were too worried to bring their marriage public though if somebody could recognize her. So they kept in it a secret. One day your mom was watching TV when she saw a big news report. Your father had just gotten married to a woman, named Shyanne. She was heartbroken. She burned it almost every letter..."

My aunt let out a quiet sob, " soon he came, she wouldn't let me open the door though... she didn't want to face him after what she learned. Who knows how long they've been dating to... then when he tried yelling through the door to her to try and explain himself she didn't listen. She grabbed the ring off her finger and gave it to me. She told me to give it to him and say goodbye. That was it. It was all over for them..." my aunt sat quiet for a few seconds. "She hadn't even got to tell him she was pregnant..."

"But... you said the 'order' ruined it" I ask.

"Yes..." aunt Rebecca wiped her tears before continuing. "Your mom wasn't too worried. Nobody else knew besides your father and me who she was and where she was. You were safe. She was safe. Or she thought... it was a few months before your birthday when she died that she told me that she was terrified.  I told her that she was just on edge when she told me that she thought the was being stocked. Then she told me about the reason she left early. She learned too much about the order. She didn't want to put anybody else in danger. Not me. Not you Lauren... I should have listened to her..." Rebecca let out a sob. "I should've been there. If I listen, maybe it wouldn't have happened. Maybe she would be here..."

"But the crash..." I start.

"She called me right before it, telling me to get to the house with you... how she'd been right... that they were behind her" My aunts face was full of tears now. Mine too. "And I think they might have figured out you're her daughter too..." she took a deep breath. "And I think they want you dead too."

Woah!!!! That was a longgggggggggggggg chapter!!! Longest yet!!!!

Anyways looks like the mystery just went much deeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
