Once upon a time there were two realms, the realm of light and the realm of darkness, and each realm was a kingdom and those two kingdoms each a ruler. The king of the realm of light was named Adam. Adam was good and strong and his subjects greatly respected and admired him. But there were also those that disliked him for his kindness which they mistook for foolishness and his ambitious spirit and forgiving heart. Lilith was the queen of the realm of darkness. Lilith practiced magic and she used it to protect her people and make the kingdom impossibly gorgeous.
These two realms were beautiful in their own way. The realm of light was always bright with blooming flowers, green grass, and singing birds. The sun was always out and you would always hear joyful song. The realm of darkness was a much different place. The people were much more miserable and they were deprived of many joys they could not experience. Instead of seeing the sun, their source of energy was the moon. Their song was much more gloomy and filled with sorrow. But unlike the realm of light, they had magic.
Both realms were in constant conflict and never found peace. They were separated and never allowed to mingle. Light was light and darkness was darkness.
One day, when Adam was riding his horse, he found Lilith, injured and alone near the river separating the two kingdoms. Despite the one big law that they made, his kind heart did not permit him to leave her alone. He took her back to his palace. No one knew of this except his sister.
Lilith recovered quickly and went back to her kingdom. They later found themselves spending more and more time together and enjoying each other's company more than they should and before they knew, they fell deeply in love. They brought their two kingdoms together and got married. Many felt joy that the two kingdoms were going to finally be at peace, but also many did not believe that the two kingdoms should be brought together. When the two realms were merged into one mighty kingdom, it became a fantastic and magical place called Avalon.
Everything was perfect. The people were thriving and magic was quickly being learned by almost everyone and new forms of it came into creation along many new creatures. The king and queen's love continued to grow and a son was born named Anthony. But sadly peace and happiness does not last forever. While darkness still existed, a new form of it evolved, an evil darkness. This darkness overtook the queen, Lilith and she caused much destruction and chaos. Adam was devastated and fled the kingdom to find a way to exterminate the darkness and bring his wife back to the light. In the meantime, Lilith began turning every creature of light into a creature of darkness and absorbing any light and goodness to make her more powerful.
Before the king could ever return, a very wise and powerful wizard was able to trap Lilith in a magic crystal and for a time the people were safe. Adam returned and when he did, because of his grieving heart, freed Lilith from the crystal and thus freed evil into his kingdom and other realms. Monsters were created along with vices and evil acts. Because Lilith became so powerful, the wizard could not trap her and all the evil she brought all together, only her, into a living host. Lilith would not be able to be saved from the darkness that had over taken her. Adam's sister, Sera, volunteered to vessel Lilith and her power. This came to be known as Lilith's Curse and every century a new host would hold her curse.
Adam lost his will to dream and love and sent Anthony far away from Avalon and had his memory be erased. Adam later died sad and alone. Avalon eventually fell and most of the light was lost. Four powerful wizards: Sarkan, Merletta, Bertram and Corbin, rose up and slowly built the kingdom back together and ruled it on their own terms. Things were never the same since Lilith's Curse punctured the realms. But hope was never lost that one day someone will rise up and defeat the evil darkness and bring goodness back into the realms.
