Sade couldn't breathe.

As she watched her mysterious stranger seemingly materialise from the shadows, her heart rate quickened uncontrollably. He was gorgeous.

Sure, she had seen a few handsome men before—everyone from her tribe was certainly something to look at—but she had never been as captivated as she was now

Her mouth parted in awe as she observed his silent and fluid movements. His thick black hair was messy, yet looked impossibly silky. He was covered only in a simple cloth around his waist, which left little to the imagination. Tattoos decorated his skin, swirling patterns covering his chest and shoulders, hinting at a story she longed to know.

As he turned his head, scanning the area, he stopped when their eyes met.

She couldn't stop the sharp intake of breath as their gazes locked. Her blue eyes widened as they met his impossibly golden ones, and she couldn't look away.

They stood there, frozen, the rest of the world fading into oblivion. It was as if time itself had paused for this moment. Then, he took a step forward.

Jolted out of her trance, Sade pulled her gaze away and slowly moved out of her hiding place, ignoring the numbness in her limbs from staying still for too long.

As she walked forward, a shyness she hadn't known before crept over her. The handsome stranger's eyes seemed to darken at the sight of her, and she felt blood rushing to her face, knowing it would be visible against her ivory skin.

Not taking her eyes off him, Sade continued to observe. Tattoos adorned his face, enhancing his rugged beauty. Her gaze trailed down to the scar that started just above his brow and stopped level with his nose.

Lost in the details of his appearance, she didn't register that they were both walking slowly toward each other until they were standing face-to-face. Her eyes now level with his chest, she took in the intricate tattoos that seemed to tell a deeper story.

Looking up slowly, her neck craning slightly, she gazed at him through her dark, thick lashes, her plump lips parting as she breathed out a small, "Hello." She didn't notice the man's hand clenching tightly as he looked down at her, a mixture of innocence and purity in her expression.
