CDTA HC #2

Headcanon 2: Joshua calls Madeline 'Maddy' while Madeline calls Joshua 'Josh'. Note that this is shown during the stories but I personally believe that they call each other these to help them remember pleasant times.

From when Leah had been introduced to Madeline to when they had escaped Hell (figuratively, other than Joshua), she had noticed a pattern between her and their Cael devil friend. Though they severed the love for each other, they still seem close and friendly with one another. Leah didn't mind it, having people who care about you is quite important and the young adult knew that. It's how the bond between the four grew as strong as the ocean, invincible and forever.

Leah took a slow sip from her cup and glanced over at Isaac, who was busy cleaning up a scratch on his arm. For whatever reason, Sunny had gotten spooked by the mere sight of Isaac, which cause the feline to claw at him. A trickle of blood ran down his forearm which was instantly cleared away by a wet paper towel. Isaac had cleaned the marks (by Leah's orders, she didn't want him to get an infection!) and wrapped a layer of a bandages over the scar.

"Change it every few hours, Izzy." Leah instructed while Madeline stepped into the kitchen, holding her camera. Beside her, Joshua stood with a couple of photos in hand. A warm feeling began to brew in Leah as she saw her friends getting along after the events of the break-up. It was a refreshing sight.

Holding the photos, Joshua muttered, "You ready outdid yourself, Maddy. With a sticker or two, they'll fit the... blog's aesthetic, whatever that means." Madeline merely smiled at his confusion.

"Yeah," She started while looking at the pictures, "I guess I did good. Thanks Josh."

Isaac got up from his chair and glanced over at the pictures. He quickly said, "Lemme see! I want to see art." Joshua turned to look at Madeline, his expression read 'Should we show him?'

"Well, it wouldn't hurt." Joshua gave her a nod and flashed the pictures at Isaac. Upon seeing them, his face grew a smile. Madeline grinned shyly when her photos became the center of attention, yes this did happen but it still was something to get used to. Though, she never would since she was an awkward person but wonderfully kind and caring. Joshua knew firsthand what she was like.

Leah set her cup down on the counter and spoke, "I'll check them out in a moment, I just wanted to tell you both that Sunny clawed Isaac."

With a heavy groan, Joshua mumbled, "Of course that cat did this. C'mon Maddy, let's go find him before things get out of hand and someone else gets harmed." Madeline gave him a swift nod and reached out her hand, and Joshua slipped her the photos into her hands.

"Okay, let's go."

'They definitely have a friendship like no other, yeah it's still healing but he's opening up and I'm glad to see that.' Leah thought to herself as she watched Joshua and Madeline tread quickly to the sounds of a cat running into a wall.

While yes, this chapter is short, it's meant to be. I plan on making each chapter to be short but able to make an impact on the reader.

Before I say anything else, missr3n3 (the creator of the story: Cut Down the Alter) has indeed added this headcanon into her own story before I had even finished this chapter. So in all technicality, this headcanon is true and I'm literally so happy.

You might noticed that this is also a happy chapter, but that's because I've been working on it while going through a rough time of depression. Next chapter is going to be a lot more dark and I'll explain why in the afterthoughts section I use.
