Natalia felt betrayed. As soon as the words left Damon's mouth, she felt short of breath. She couldn't believe that someone like Damon, someone who was able to win her trust and heart in such a little span of time could lie to her.
While on the other hand, Damon wasn't delighted with the situation either. He knew he messed up when he saw tears in her eyes.
"I hate you Damon. I hate you." She shouted at him, her voice cracking with the intensity of her emotions.
She turned around to leave. She was done here. She didn't want him to repeat all those things that Maddison already told her.
However, a hand wrapped around her torso and she felt Damon pulling her into his chest from behind.
She struggled in his arms, but he was stronger than her. He didn't let her go.
"Don't touch me Damon. I want to leave." She said, her voice trembled.
"No. I won't let you go. Not before I tell you everything. Please listen to me once Natalia. Let me explain all this to you. Please."
He begged her for a chance, but she remained silent, struggling to free herself.
"Natalia, I know you are hurt and its all my fault. But don't you think I deserve a chance. For the sake of all the time we have spent together. I promise its not what you think."
Slowly, she stopped struggling and turned in his arms to face him. Damon was just staring at her, awaiting her next words.
Her mind was screaming at her to leave and not trust him again. But the stupid heart was begging her to give him a chance to explain himself. To let him tell his side of story.
She took a deep breath and wiped the tears that fell from her eyes.
"Fine. You have got five minutes." She said and hope bubbled in Damon's heart.
Natalia, for the first time in her life, placed so much of trust in someone. She was hurt by Maddie's words and she felt her heart breaking into pieces when Damon said he planned on getting married with her.
But for some reason, she wanted all of this to be a lie. She wished that Damon would tell her that he just wants her and no one else.
That wish, that desire made her give him a chance to explain himself.
"Thank you. Thanks a lot. You won't regret. I promise." He said hastily and took her hand, making her sit on the couch beside him.
