The date of the monthly meeting that had been delayed for some time was now happening: Lord Pitch made his way down the corridors, his walking stick clattering against the floor with each step. He barely turned the corner when he saw many of the captains, commanders and generals under his command were all walking towards the main meeting hall. The crowds were all mingling as they all converged on the door of the meeting hall.
Pitch was the only one who had the keycode to the meeting room, and who they were waiting for, to finally begin with the conference. He put the keycard into the slot and the mechanical door opened with a small clunk and a swoosh. Before them was the meeting room, a large room meant to comfortably house all the commanders, captains, generals and Pitch himself. He was the first to enter the room, of course; the rest of the ensemble followed and all sorted in amongst the table and seats.
There were a lot of things needed to discuss. As always, as everyone sat on their seats, Lord Pitch started the conference. But he hesitated: one important commander was missing. With a sudden whirl of magic above Pitch's seat, appeared Commander Saros. Enough time had passed that his wizard sickness was finally and completely healed now.
"You were late, Saros." Pitch whispered up to him as he floated down beside the captain.
"Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I didn't hear my alarm on time as I took a small nap earlier." His sickness might have been healed but sometimes, Saros still got himself more sleep when he was able to. A big yawn followed right after. "Did I miss anything?"
"No. We were just about to start." Captain Pitch told him and opened the conference. He took a tablet screen into his left hand and read through his notes. After Pitch cleared his throat, he spoke: "Since everyone is here, I'll now start the meeting. A lot of time has passed since our last one, and I'm pretty sure a lot of you have a lot to discuss about."
"We have, Lord Pitch." A voice raised from one of the generals' seats next to him. It was General Skylar, with the other general's nodding in agreement that Skylar should talk about his reports first.
General Skylar looked to his own tablet screen which was laying in front of him and said: "On board our station is now an earth crystal safely stored. But it also left unwanted chaos: it got to my attention that Captain Blaze's pyro ability has been expanded to a secondary ability under his toolbelt: geo ability. The earth crystal might become a valuable asset in the future, however..."
"It causes nothing but trouble for me, General Skylar. I'd rather stick with my pyro power than geo power. I want this earth crystal gone!" A lilac petunia popped out of his hat as Captain Blaze interrupted in annoyance and heard a quiet giggle from Captain Rosette near him.
"I kinda like it, tho." She meant to him as she noticed the lilac flower growing from his hat popping up, just like last time when he demonstrated his new power to the higher ups.
"It's not funny, Captain Rosette!" Captain Blaze responded in more annoyance than before. "This geo ability is driving me crazy! I'm used to the blazing energy of fire coursing through my veins all the time! For me, it's my life blood, and I can't live with the additional mellow energy of earth!"
After Blaze complained, Saros used his lightning magic to burn down the petunia for him. "Relax, Blaze. It's, in fact, quite nice to own a lot of power, ya' know?"
Blaze was burning in his mind as exactly Saros had to say this and looked at him full in fury and growled: "Of course you had to say this."
"C'mon it's true isn't it?" Saros continued to irritate Captain Blaze more. The tension that permeated the room was palatable and almost everyone there could anticipate a full blown fight occurring if nothing was done to stop it. As Captain Blaze growled and Saros sneered back, one of the other captains stood up from his seat.
