"All wavers and NDA's signed and accounted for." Summer hummed in achievement as she handed off the stack of papers to Johnny before standing beside him and Kreese, an older man who had mysteriously shown up at the dojo yesterday.
"Why do we need all this?" Johnny scoffed, flicking through the papers.
"Be grateful I did all this so you won't get sued when one of these losers drowns in cement. And be grateful I'm even here, do you know how hard it was for me to wake up this early in the morning and still look like this?" Summer scoffed, gesturing to herself.
Kreese raised his eyebrows at the outspoken girl, glancing judgmentally at Johnny for allowing such attitude to fly. "And you are?"
"She's Summer, my assistant until her community service hours are done." Johnny quickly shut the conversation down, not needing Kreese prying too far into Summer and figuring out her relation to Robby.
The sudden sound of a truck horn sounded out through the junkyard, all heads snapping to face the cement truck that was pulling up in front of them.
"I still think this is a stupid plan." She muttered to Johnny.
Summer stood to the side with Kreese as Johnny gave his students a speech. The girls arms were crossed and her usual heated glare presented on her face as she watched, not really listening to whatever Johnny had to say.
"Have you ever thought about joining karate, Miss O'Connor?" Kreese suddenly asked from beside the girl.
Summer reluctantly tore her eyes away from the scene in front of her to briefly glance at the old man beside her. "I did try it, it was dumb."
"What about it, did you not enjoy?"
"The robes are ugly, and punching people makes my nails chip." Summer rolled her eyes, scrolling through her phone absentmindedly in the hopes that Kreese would get the hint that she had no desire to talk to him, especially not about karate.
"I guess you just did not have it in you." Kreese sighed over dramatically.
"Oh, that is so not the insult you think it is." Summer breathed out.
Summer was barely paying attention to what was happening in front of her until Miguel began to climb the ladder that led to the entrance of the cement wheel, and when the rest of her friends began to follow, Summer took this as her queue to go and stand beside Johnny and Kreese.
"What happens when they get stuck?" Summer asked the two men beside her, using her hand to shield the bright sunlight from her eyes as she looked up at the wheel, which hadn't began to move since the teenagers had entered.
"They won't." Kreese smirked all knowingly, which irked Summer slightly.
The girl didn't ask any questions after that, simply stood with the end of her fingernails in her mouth nervously, silently praying that they would soon find a way to make the cement wheel spin.
Minutes ticked by before there was any actual movement from the truck, it started off slow but it gradually amounted to the truck spinning quickly around. Cheers erupted from all the students, including Summer, who were still safely standing on land. Even Johnny dropped his grumpy act to cheer on his students who were inside of the death trap.
The spinning lasted for a few minutes until it slowly died down once more. Summer laughed to herself as she climbed the ladder, slightly slipping due to attempting to climb it in her kitten heels. Once reaching the top, she peered into the cylinder, laughing at all her friends who were covered head to toe in wet cement.
"Oh my god, you guys all look awful." The girl joked, sliding her phone out of her low rise jeans pocket and snapping a photo. "Ew, absolutely horrendous."
"Delete that right now, Summer!" Hawk seethed, attempting to climb to his feet, but slipping and falling back into the puddle of wet cement.
Summer pouted at the boy sarcastically before turning back around and climbing down the ladder.
As soon as her heeled feet touched the ground, she was handed a water hose by Johnny and was instructed to hose off all the covered in cement. She took the job on with stride, lining all the kids up as if they were about to be executed.
"You should all be proud of yourselves." Johnny began as Summer hosed off the first kid, spending extra time in propelling water in their face until it was red from impact. The girl silently giggled to herself as she moved down the line. "I know I'm proud. Your parents would be proud too, if you told them what we did today."
"Which you're not legally allowed to, got that, assface?" Summer interrupted, spraying one of the newcomers in the face with the hose, not stopping until he nodded his head viciously.
"You pushed forward like champions." Johnny continued. "Never stopping. Never being satisfied. Never giving up. And if you keep pushing and keep moving forward, you're gonna go to places you never even dreamed of." Johnny finalised with a content smile.
The peaceful moment was cut short, however, when Summer blasted Bert in the face with the hose, causing the boy to fall to the ground and his glasses to shoot off his face.
"Ha!" Summer exclaimed, continuing to spray him as he squirmed uncomfortably on the ground.
