It has been three fortnights since Daemon has last seen a living being. The coldness enveloped his body. He was not provided the luxury of a blanket. He's been sleeping to pass time, as Rhaenyra did not send down food and water to her prisoners.

All he could think about was his family. Saera, and all his children.

"Daemon," a womanly voice breaks him free from his thoughts. "Rhaenyra," he responded with a single word.

His anger did not subside in the three days he was kept in his cell. Matter of fact, it grew every second he spent in her presence.

"I hope that the darkness has brought light to your judgement." she took a sharp breath, taken by surprise at the anger in his eyes.

"You murdered a babe, Rhaenyra." he scoffs, the cells were the only thing keeping him from murdering his niece.

"You have no idea what it feels like to lose a son, uncle. All your children are living and breathing - but Lucerys is gone. There is a boulder on my shoulders, and Aemond should know what that feels like." Rhaenyra spat.

She kept her voice low - not raising it, in fear that she'd provoke her uncle's wrath. "Then, you should've killed Aemond, not your sister's blood!" he argued, feeling his heart beating furiously in his chest.

"Alyssa and Daegon are yours aren't they?" she interrogated. All the weight they both carried in their shoulders, falling down.

"- and you are only furious at me for killing your blood, not Saera's." she pressed on the matter, tears in her eyes.

"Silence!" Daemon commanded, but Rhaenyra doesn't obey.

"You are furious at me because I have everything you desire. The throne, and my father's love." Rhaenyra antagonized the older man.

"I never wanted your father's love, Rhaenyra, mayhaps in the caprice of my youth -" Daemon reasons but is interrupted.

"You've always wanted to be in my place. With my father's favor, and when you realized that you could not have his love - you fell in love with Saera, and I don't blame you, it must've been easy falling in love with a woman like her. She obeyed you, that is what you wanted. You wanted a lackey not an equal." Rhaenyra insulted, unable to verbalize her true feelings.

"I see you for what you truly are, Rhaenyra. A jealous viper who is incapable of love, even towards her kin." Daemon raised his voice.

"- to think that your sister loved you, admired your bravery and strength, promised to protect you, and swore it to your father, but all you've ever done is betray her. Looked down on her." he scoffed.

Rhaenyra could slander his past all that she wishes, but not his wife. Not the mother of his children. He'll do anything to keep her safe.

"You can live a thousand lifetimes and never once deserve the love and support that your sister has given you. I hope that your conscience haunts you. I hope that when you sleep at night, Aelor's eyes that he inherited from Saera stares right back at you."
