Damon

I wanted to.

I was even considering it but fuck.

I can't, I can't keep living in the past like this...

I have to stop thinking about her.

She has to go.

It is only for the best.

"I'm fired girl." I slouch drearily and exhale.

"What? Why??" Catalina knits her brows together.

I take a deep breath before telling her everything that happened today, substituting Damon's identity with "the hot stranger" and excluding the details regarding his other activities.

"Oh my- are you okay??" She instantly checks out my wound.

"Yes, I'm fine."

"Girl, that's fucked up." She crosses her arms and winces her face, upset.

"What? I think it looks okay?"

"No, no. I wasn't talking about your wound."

"I was talking about your manager, he's a douche." She rolls her eyes.

"Um... Isn't it a little bit too harsh?" I press my lips together.

"Harsh??" She gawks at me.

"Girl, he shouldn't have taken such an extreme decision like that, it wasn't a big deal, come on." She spits and tosses her hands to the air, then lies back with her arms folded again.

"I would get mad too if my employees kept going missing." I shrug.

"I guess I have to look for some other jobs then..." I purse my lips.

"Sorry for you, girl..." She shakes her head, staring at her drink and fidgets with the glass, seeming deep in thought.

"Well you know..." She utters.

"At least something nice happened to you... Even if it was for a short while." She suddenly brings her gaze back to me and I pryingly listen.

"Hmm?"

"That guy was really nice, you know... He cared about you." She bites her lower lip and grins at me.

"I refuse to think so." I intensely shake my head.

Care? Pfft, I wish that was true.

He never for once showed that he was interested in like, chatting with me, he looked as if he only wanted me to shut my mouth and stop inquiring him already.

"Why? Girl, based on what you said, he persisted on treating your wound, if that doesn't show he cares then what?" She shrugs.

"No, he didn’t." I decline. "He was just being nice because he made me hurt myself..."

"Um... You know, in a way to say sorry." I add.

She just rolls her eyes, giving up on me.

I browse for jobs and apply for some again. I hope they will accept me.

After I'm done, I drop on the bed.

I sew my eyes shut, easing my wearisomeness, hoping to get a good nap but my brain is just so overactive that it keeps disturbing me with its random chaotic thoughts and reflections.
