NATALIE KANE
I looked over at Cody, who mouthed the words, "I'm sorry," at me, then back at Alpha Jason.
"I know this may seem like a random attack on my part, but I assure you, it's not," Jason continued. "Given your short, but catty history with one another, I've concluded that she's the best suited option for this lesson. If you can keep your cool and stay standing on two feet against her, you'll be ready to face the human world."
He wasn't wrong, it was actually a well thought out plan. Victoria got under my skin more than anyone, and she knew exactly how to push my buttons. Although, it still didn't hide the fact that I wished the ground would open up and swallow me in this moment. I tried my best to avoid her at all costs since living at the pack house, and had done a very good job, up until now.
"This is going to be fun," Victoria said, maliciously.
I scoffed at her, rolling my eyes. "Of course, you would think that."
"Aww, are you scared?" she mocked, making crying fists at her eyes. She broke out into a condescending laugh.
"You would like that, I'm sure," I retaliated. "But no, I'm not. Just annoyed that I have to be anywhere near you."
"That's pretty much how everyone feels about you." She laughed again. "You're a walking disaster. Cody and Alpha follow you around, cleaning up all your messes." She took a step closer, bringing her face just inches away from mine. "You made a really big mess of your husband, didn't you?" she sneered. There was no holding back with her, she went straight for the jugular right off the bat.
That comment set me off, as I lunged straight at Victoria, shifting mid leap. I swiped my paw across her face, leaving deep scratch marks.
She let out a scream, which quickly turned into a roar as she shifted as well, violently pushing me onto my back. There was a loud thud as I hit the ground. I wriggled myself, trying to get back up, but she had me pinned down. Pain seared through my shoulder as she sunk her teeth into it. I let out a howl in anguish.
Cody stirred, uncomfortably, getting ready to run over to me, but Jason held his hand out in front of him, stopping him. "No," he instructed, shaking his head. "Don't interfere." He then turned his attention back to Victoria and me. "Stand up and shift back," he ordered. "Both of you."
We reluctantly obliged, both panting heavily, staring each other down. Victoria casually wiped my blood from her mouth and chin, the corner of her lips curling up into a smirk. It took everything in me not to pounce at her and rip that smug look off her face.
"Try again," Jason boomed.
"Gladly," Victoria replied, narrowing her eyes at me.
"Fuck you," I retorted. The words rolled from my tongue like poison.
She sucked air through her teeth. "With a mouth like that, it's no wonder why your parents didn't want you."
Resisting the urge to attack, my body began to tremble.
"Both sets of them," she continued.
I balled my fists and clenched my jaw, closing my eyes.
"They had to die just to get away from you."

Werewolf** "Hey," I squeaked back. I didn't know why he was so intimidating, but for some odd reason, I kind of liked it. It wasn't a scary intimidating, I wasn't afraid of him at all. He was intriguing, sexy, and a man who screamed danger, but at the same...
