Third POV
"That's not fair!" Tira rebutted, pushing herself up. "The promise I exchanged was to wipe the memory of me in everyone's mind. In everyone who knew me at that time's mind!"
"Then you should have be more specific," He replied, shrugging his shoulders and walking back to the middle of the water. A chair appeared and he sat on top, looking down at Tira who stood there frustrated.
"It was implied!"
"I don't care." Tira started pacing around, tapping the back of her thumb to her bottom lip.
"The wish you made did not specify that it was only to those from the demon world. Only that it was for those who knew you, who know of your existence."
"But what will happen to them? What about Phil?!"
"Hm? You care for only his memories of you?" Tira hesitated as He chuckled. "That's quite selfish of you, human."
"No! Well, maybe!" Tira gritted her teeth, trying to find the right words. "I care about him the most, that is true. Why wouldn't I? But he realized the blanks in his memory. That there was someone there with him, just that he couldn't find out who they were. Even if you wiped his memories and everyone else's too, he'd just notice it again!"
"Hmm... then I should replace his memories is what you're saying."
"No!"
"Then what is it?" Tira stopped in her tracks. He was right. Just what was she wanting from him? She knew that whatever along the lines of Phil being the only one to keep his memories of her would be futile, there was no way he'd make an exception. So what could she ask? What would make the most sense? Actually help her and then at the same time while not crossing the boundary that He had set up from their previous deal?
"You were the one that created this mess," He reminded. "If you had sacrificed something else, everything would have gone much more smoothly."
"But what could I have given up?! Nothing!" Tira kicked at the water, glaring at her reflection. "I had — have — nothing to give up! I wasn't alive, I didn't have some sort of superpower, and I made zero impact on anyone before Phil! Besides their memories I had nothing to give up. Nothing that was that important to me."
"Not even your own memories of them?" Tira scoffed.
"Please. I'd just see and hear them talk about me and I'd be fine right after. Besides, you wouldn't want my memories either. It's not what I think is importantly or special, it's what you think."
He laughed, his voice echoing throughout the space. Tira resumed her pacing. Her eyes scoured the place looking for some sort of door or entrance way to leave from. She had enough of his bullshit.
"You are correct. You don't value your memories as much as theirs. But promises are promises. I will be taking each of their memories of you away."
"..."
"Well isn't this entertaining. Nothing to say? I'm surprised I've left you speechless. You weren't this agreeable when we first met."
Yes. When they first met Tira hadn't thought as far ahead as Emma, Norman, or Ray would. And the meeting itself was a sudden one at that. Suddenly bringing up all that condition had forced her to come to a pause.
"Then... you can take them away."
"You've given up?" Tira shook her head. A determined look spread across her face.
"But I have another promise I want to make with you." His smile stretched into something revealing his demonic self.
"If it's entertaining I won't mind granting it."
"Put me into the body of an unknown girl that looks like me."
"And why should I give you another chance at life?"
"I'm not finished yet." He carefully watched Tira as she made her way up to him, only stopping a mere foot away.
"And place me back in the demon world."
