With the gifts giving ritual completed, the time had come for the *Pag Phera* ceremony. The Agnihotri mansion buzzed with activity as final preparations were made. I felt a mixture of excitement and nostalgia as I prepared to visit my parental home for the first time after my marriage.

Dressed in another exquisite saree, I took a moment to appreciate the intricate design and the way it draped so perfectly. Mom and Dad both stood nearby, their expressions filled with warmth and pride. Raeesha, along with Priya and Mithali, surrounded me with their playful energy, helping me with final touches.

As I stepped out of the mansion, Rudraksh was waiting by the car, who is supposed to drop me and pick me from my home. His expression, as always, was stoic and unreadable. Despite his emotionless facade, I could sense a certain depth in his gaze, an unspoken acknowledgment of the importance of this ritual.

We got into the luxurious car, a testament to the Agnihotri family's status, and set off towards my parental home. The journey was filled with a comfortable silence, each of us lost in our thoughts. Memories of my childhood home flooded my mind, mixing with the new experiences of my life with Rudraksh.

“I will come to pick you up by 6pm in the evening. Is that okay with you?” Rudra asked, his attention on the road and so were his eyes, which were concealed with the sunglasses.

“Yeah, that'd be perfect.”

Upon arriving, I was greeted with open arms by my Papa. His eyes sparkled with pride and joy, a hint of tears adding to the emotional reunion. The comforting simplicity of my home was striking, yet both places, my in-laws home and my paternal home, held a special place in my heart.

Papa performed the welcoming aarti, his smile a blend of pride and sentiment. Amit Bhaiya, greeted me with his characteristic warmth and humour, teasing me about my new life. Chachu and Chachi fussed over me, ensuring I felt the love and comfort of home. It was a bittersweet moment, filled with the joy of being back and the realisation that I now belonged to two families.

I changed into something comfortable in my room before joining my family downstairs.

“There she is!” I sat down beside Papa, cuddling to his side who wrapped me up in his warm embrace, kissing my head occasionally.

“Wah, pati ke jate hi saree me se pyjamas mein aa gayi?! Tere in-laws kya sochenge if they see you in this avatar?” Amit bhaiya smirked as he brought his phone out.

(Wow, it's not even an hour since your husband left, and you changed into your pyjamas?! What will your in-laws think?)

“Chachu!” I whined, hiding my face in Papa's sweatshirt.
