The sun hung in the sky above Kitakami. Its rays shone done on the one town in the tiny region. Mossui Town.
Any minute now, a tall, dark haired girl thought, and those wretched outsiders would come wandering in. Her name was Carmine, matching the parts of her hair seemingly dyed crimson.
Her younger brother, a timid boy named Kieran, watched her. She looked from the entrance, to the path to Kitakami Hall, and back again.
"Sis... It's been 20 minutes, you must've got the date-"
"Shut it, Kiki. I'm never wrong."
"Sure you aren't."
Carmine scoffed and looked at the entrance again. She swore she heard something pulling up at the bus station down the way.
She looked away for a split second when Kieran's voice alerted her. "Sis, look! There's one now!" He said, and she turned to look in surprise.
A tan boy with raven hair and almond eyes looked back at her with a smile. He wore the Naranja Academy uniform with a Pokémon League hat on his head. A Pikachu sat on his shoulder.
"Hey, uh, do you two know where the caretaker is? Ms Briar said to look for him." He said, looking around. Carmine narrowed her eyes and folded her arms, as Kieran cowered behind her.
"Woah... way cool."
"Hush, Kiki! You'd better turn back, kid. I can't let some rando outsider just wander into Mossui Town like you own the place."
The boy smiled "So you wanna battle?"
"Yea, what else would I want to do, huh?" She mocked him, but he just kept that friendly smile on his face.
"I don't know, but if its a battle you want, then I'm happy to give you one!"
The two Trainers got to their positions, and took out their Poké Balls.
