Alicia's POV
"Alicia darling, how was today's sales" my godmother asked as she helped me set the table for dinner. She was all I had and we comforted each other.
"I sold everything"I replied excitedly . "I will go to the store to get things for tomorrow " I added.
"Dear slowdown okay a bit, live a little, go to that concert that Bella is bugging you about " she said dishing out the hot meal.
"I live auntie, I just have a limit. As for the concert Bella will make sure I attend, she would gladly drag me there if need be " I replied with a chuckle.
"That's why I like her, now let's pray " she said and said a few words of prayer over the food and we dug in.
"How is the preparations for Bella's wedding " she asked half way through the meal.
"It's going fine, we picked the dress already and I am handling the meals " I said excitedly, happy about the fact that I will be handling an entire wedding. it will be great for business.
"Be fast with that so you can still make it to the store" she with a small smile. We had the rest of the meal in a comfortable silence . After the meal I did the dishes and dashed out hoping to catch a taxi to the store.
Okay background check:
My name is Alicia Jones, one and only child to my late parents, I am 24 years old, tall and pretty.
I love cooking and a die hard fan of K-drama. I own a small restaurant. That's pretty much about me.
Oh lest I forgot, Bella and my godmother are my only family, unless you are counting noisy neighbors then I have a large family.(Chuckles).
********ADAM'S POV
"Have you taken care of the investors" I asked someone over the phone while driving.
"Yes sir,"he replied. He has been my personal assistant for over three years.
"Good Stephan , I am on my way back, get the reports ready; and".......... I was cut off by the sudden appearance of a girl or should I say lady on the road. I hung up while trying to swivel out of the way, but I eventually hit her but not hard enough to leave an injury but the things with her were ruined.
"Hey, Mister would you be paying for the damage" she said with a curt tone. Excuse me, I brought myself out of the car.
"Miss I am sorry about the damage" I replied.
"Well your sorry won't cut it, would it now. She replied curtly. Ha , I should have known, she wants money just like the other bitches. Just so predictable.
I took a bundle of cash and flung it to her face. She hastily picks it and counts it. I shook my head in amusement at how vain women are . You might be wondering why I think like this; it all started on my fifth birthday.
My name is Adam Torres , CEO of the Torres Empire. I am 28 years, making me one of the youngest CEOs, and in my 28 years of living, every woman in my life has proven to be a gold digger. Well except for my grandma and cousin -Diana.
My own mother left me and my dad on my fifth birthday, at that time my dad's business was on the rocks, she left for an even richer man ignoring my pleas for her to stay with us. My dad eventually fell into depression leading to him been totally bankrupt. I grew up with the belief that love only hurts you. As I grew up I dated a few times but they all ended badly because they were all after the money and I refuse to end up like my father. So I cut any form of affectionate relationship with women.
"Hey Mister, here is my money and here is yours." The lady from earlier drew me out of my reverie as she threw money at my face, just as I had done to her earlier and walked back into the grocery store I am just noticing.
What just happened, I thought to myself as I drove off leaving the money on the ground. How dare she try to play hard to get, women always looking at the bigger picture.

Alicia's POV
"Ally you are back, did you forget something." Mrs Muffery the shopkeeper asked. She is in her late 50s.
"No aunt, some jerkass thought it'd be great fun to kill me and waste my groceries."I replied reliving what just happened outside.
"Oh dear sorry about that, come let's get you what you need. It's getting late, you can get me the pay tomorrow." She offered.
"I got cash don't worry, I don't know why some rich people think it's good to throw money at people, they think it's the world " I said testedly following her as she filled my basket.
"Dearie, not all rich people are suck ups, take for instance, Mrs Torres; her grandson is one of the richest young men out there but she gets things at the local mart."she said softly as she helped me pick what I needed.
"Yeah I know, that is why I said some, like the one I met outside just now. He apologized like it was the most agonizing thing to do, I just had to teach him a lesson so I collected the money for my groceries, the ones he damaged. He threw the money in my face like I am some beggar, can you imagine." I exclaimed exasperatedly.
"I can" she replied calmly still filling my basket.
"Of course you can't, wait what." I replayed what she said in my head." You can?" I asked surprised.
"Yes, of course, I have been in such a situation before, that is how I met my husband." Her husband must have means a lot to her, unfortunately he died early and she refused to remarry, raising their son; Jeffery alone.
She went on to tell me how they met and how he was such a rich snub who thought the world revolved around him.
She smiled at the memory. She told me about the encounter that changed their lives and I must say it was like a fairytale. I want a love that is just like my parents'.
"Now run along dear, you don't want to miss the bus and be stuck, also I don't want Mabel to be worried."She said after she helped me with the groceries and I paid for them. Knowing my godmother, she is probably waiting outside.
"Yes, thank you so much, good night. I said dashing out of the store with her yelling at me to be careful.
