"I still don't understand...or know the right answer, but so what?! I know this is wrong, and I don't like it!!!"
Falling.
That was the last thing Ayanami could remember from the previous battle. She had leapt in at the last second to save Zuikaku and Shoukaku from one of Enterprise's attacks.
Her act of courage had endangered her life as she was caught in the explosion of the aircraft she destroyed. And she was falling.
Falling so fast towards the sea below her, which had split in half, revealing a starry nights sky. There was no way for her to help herself, she was the one who had to be saved this time.
As her eyes slowly began to shut, she could just about make out the figures of the two girls that were responsible for her uncertainty.

Ayanami's eyes opened once more. She was no longer falling, but laid still on a comfy mattress. Above her, a white ceiling instead of the white cloudy sky.
As she regained her bearings, she slowly sat up and looked around the room. It was rather spacious with a cupboard in the corner near her bed and a couch in the corner opposite.
Her eyes kept gliding around the room until eventually coming to the window, the sky was blue now with a few fluffy clouds dotted around.
"If you're thinking of escaping, don't."
A voice came from the door, which immediately got Ayanami's attention.
Aircraft Carrier Ark Royal
"You're being watched. Don't worry, we're not going to bite." She continued.
Ayanami furrowed her brows slightly, before opening her mouth to reply.
"Can you at least tell me if this is Azur Lane?" She asked.
"You've done your research. Not that I'm surprised." Ark Royal said, stepping into the room carrying a paper bag.
"The battle is over now." She said, reaching into the bag and pulling out an apple, throwing it in Ayanami's direction.
The destroyer caught it, not taking her eyes off the woman.
"You were unconscious so we brought you back here. That officially makes you a prisoner of war." Ark Royal said.
"...what about the other two? Are they okay?" Ayanami asked, referring to Javelin and Laffey.
"Your two enemies? Worried about them are you?" Ark Royal asked with a slight smile on her face.
"They are fine."
Your voice made both girls quickly turn in your direction. Waving, you stepped into the room and stood beside Ark Royal.
