FRIDAY NIGHT

Sloane stood in front of her closet, rifling through a sea of clothes, as Haven lounged on her bed, scrolling through her phone. The hum of excitement mixed with nerves filled the room. It had been ages since they'd both gone out to a party, and tonight felt different, charged with a special kind of anticipation.

"So, what are you wearing?" Haven asked, looking up from her phone, eyes twinkling with mischief.

Sloane held up a few options, indecision etched on her face. "I'm not sure. I want to look good, but not like I'm trying too hard."

Haven smirked. "For Paige?"

Sloane blushed and threw a pillow at her. "Shut up....maybe"

Haven laughed, catching the pillow. "Alright, let's find something that screams 'effortlessly sexy.' How about this black dress" Haven said while pulling it out of Sloane's closet.

Sloane considered it, then nodded. "Yeah, that one's perfect."

She slipped into the dress, the fabric hugging her curves in all the right places. Haven helped her with the zipper, then they moved to the mirror to tackle hair and makeup. Haven decided on loose waves for Sloane, enhancing her natural beauty with minimal makeup and a bold red lip.

"Gorgeous," Haven declared, stepping back to admire her work. "Paige won't be able to resist you!"

Sloane smiled, her nerves temporarily eased. "Thanks, Haven. You're the best."

Haven grinned, grabbing her own outfit – a chic, off-the-shoulder top and high-waisted jeans. "Let's get this party started."

They got out their uber and immediately heard the music thumping, the house already packed with students. Sloane felt a flutter of nerves as they walked in, scanning the room for Paige. Haven spotted her friends and waved, pulling Sloane along.

"There she is," Haven whispered, nudging Sloane and nodding towards Paige, who was laughing with a group near the kitchen.

Sloane's heart skipped a beat. Paige looked effortlessly beautiful, her hair cascading in soft waves, her smile radiant. Once Paige had ventured off slightly away from the group Sloane took a deep breath and walked over, trying to act casual.

"Hey, Paige," she greeted, her voice steady despite the butterflies in her stomach.

Paige's eyes lit up when she saw her. "Sloane! I'm so glad you made it. You look amazing."

Sloane blushed, glancing down at her dress. "Thanks. You look great too."

They started chatting, the conversation flowing easily, punctuated with laughter. The chemistry between them was undeniable, each stolen glance and casual touch sending sparks flying.

"Want to grab a drink?" Paige suggested, nodding towards the makeshift bar.

"Sure," Sloane agreed, following her.

They poured themselves drinks, the liquid courage easing some of the tension. As the night wore on, they found themselves getting closer, their flirting more blatant with each sip.

"You know," Paige said, leaning in conspiratorially, "I've always thought you were so beautiful Sloane."

Sloane laughed, the compliment warming her from the inside out. "Really? Because I've always thought you were so gorgeous."

Paige smiled, her eyes locking onto Sloane's. "Why haven't we hung out more?"

Sloane shrugged, her heart pounding. "I don't know. But I'm glad we are now."

They continued talking, their drinks disappearing faster as the night went on. The alcohol loosened their inhibitions, making their touches linger and their smiles more intimate.

At one point, as the two were up on the balcony Sloane stumbled slightly, and Paige caught her, their faces inches apart. They both froze, the air between them crackling with electricity.

"Sloane..." Paige whispered, her voice thick with emotion.

"Yeah?" Sloane replied, her heart racing.

Before either of them could overthink it, Paige closed the distance, pressing her lips to Sloane's. The kiss was soft at first, tentative, but quickly deepened, fueled by the alcohol and pent-up feelings.

Sloane's hands found their way to Paige's neck, and Paige's hands found Sloane's waist, pulling her closer as they lost themselves in the moment and the kiss got more heated and by the end of it Sloane was pushed up against a wall with Paige's hands all over Sloane's ass and Sloane with her hands on the sides of Paige's face pulling her closer if even possible as Paige slipped her tongue in Sloane's mouth Sloane let out a moan.

Suddenly, Paige pulled back, her eyes wide with realization. "I... I'm sorry, I have to go," she stammered, turning and rushing towards the door.

Sloane stood there, up against the wall
suddenly feeling very sober and stunned, her lips still tingling from the kiss. She watched Paige disappear into the night, her mind racing. She needed to talk to someone, to process what had just happened.

"what the fuck" she muttered to herself as she quickly walked downstairs and
found Haven, who was laughing with a group of friends. "Haven, I need to talk to you," Sloane said urgently, pulling her aside with an unsettled look on her face.

Haven took one look at Sloane's face and knew something had happened. "What's wrong?"

Sloane took a deep breath, the words tumbling out. "Paige kissed me. And then she just... left. I don't know what to do."

Haven's eyes widened. "She kissed you? Oh my god, Sloane!"

"I know, but then she freaked out and ran away, I think she regretted it." Sloane said, her voice trembling as her eyes began to water.

"Aww baby, it's okay she just needs time to process." Haven said before pulling her into a hug. "Do you want me to call us an uber?" she muttered into Sloane's hair as Sloane just shook her head yes as the two went outside and waited in the yard for their uber.
