I woke up in immense pain.
Taking a long hot shower, I got dressed and walked out to the kitchen. My shoulder didn't heal right, even when I walked it hurt. Ridley and Bri were both at the table eating cereal and Ridley was drinking a mug of warm blood. I grabbed my own mug and poured a blood bag in it. I slipped it into the microwave and sat down.
"I got Perry injured and kicked Demetri in the balls," I blurted, hating the silence.
Ridley choked on her blood. "Shut up! You're screwed."
"I know I feel like shit," I pulled on my hair. Someone knocked on our door.
"I got it." Bri got up and answered it. In less than three seconds, Perry was glaring at me in my kitchen.
"This won't happen again," I sighed.
"Damn right it won't. I'm resigning from being your thrall. You're getting a new one today," Perry snapped, "I can't handle you. Damned vampires." He walked out.
I hung my head. That was one thing. I had control issues. "Shit."
"You're screwed," Bri laughed.
"I know. I have to head to Rose's office to let her know now," I trudged outside and made my way to Rose's office.
"Your space is over there Burnett!" Rose screamed.
"No shit. Then why is my coffee over there?" Burnett shouted.
"Go to Hell," Rose growled.
I winced. I hated my superhearing sometimes. Knocking on the door, I braced myself for the worst. "Come in!"
I looked at Rose. She smiled gratefully. "What's up Zoey?"
"Well, um," I glanced at Burnett. Demetri was there talking to him quietly. "See, well, Perry doesn't want to be my thrall anymore."
"I guess I'm not surprised, but isn't that a little drastic?" Rose asked.
Perry walked in briskly. "No it's not. Every time I get injured its when I'm around her. I'm fucking done. She doesn't stop. It's driving me fucking crazy. Jen is always asking where I am and I don't want to risk my relationship with her. Zoey's personal life comes into mine and then I know I'm screwed."
"Um okay." Rose looked at me. I sat in a seat and sunk in it. I risked a glance at Demetri. He was smirking. I frowned. Jerk.
"I'm sorry Perry. I understand why you want this, but Rose, you must understand. Logan fed from me and when I wasn't willing. The werewolves they also took part," I said.
Rose glared at Burnett. "Can you tell your boy not to listen in?"
I smiled because Demetri was caught. I turned to him. "Go away," I wanted to clock him.
"No Kitten."
"My name is Zoey," I snapped.
"And mine is Dem. So?" More like kill him.
I rolled my eyes. "Anyway..."
"Alright Perry you're not Zoey's thrall. You okay with that Zo?"
I nodded. "Fine, but I need a new thrall and keep Logan away from me."
"Will do. Perry you may leave."
Perry nodded and walked out. Rose turned to me. "We need to get you a new thrall. You're out of control Zoey. You also need someone who will make sure you stay in control. They need to be with you everywhere. We need someone who can handle you. Warlocks can't handle that and vampires are not permitted to be thralls. So you have to pick between a Fae volunteer or a lycan. To be honest, I think lycans can handle being thralls."
