Thor's POV
We get back to the Tower and Barton gets some medical help. Stark tells us all to get cleaned up because we're having a celebration.
After we're all ready, people start coming. I talk to some older men for a few minutes then listen to a story told by Stark's friend, Rhodey, is what he calls him.
"So I take the tank, fly it right up to the general's palace, and I'm like 'Boom, you lookin' for this?'" he says. "'Boom, you lookin' for this? Why do I even talk to you guys? Everybody else that story kills."
"That's the whole story?" I ask
"Yes, the War Machine story," he answers.
"It's very good then," I laugh and take a drink, "it's very impressive."
"Where's Pepper? She's not coming?" Rhodey questions.
"Yeah, where's Elsi? Where are the ladies, gentlemen?" Maria Hill asks.
"Ms. Potts has a company to run," Stark replies.
"Elsi just had a child," I tell them.
"Congrats, Thor! Girl or boy?" Maria asks.
"Girl," I grin.
"Well, I'm sure they hate missing you guys get together. Testosterone," she coughs and walks away with Rhodey.
"But Elsi's better," I comment to Stark.
He leaves and I see Steve standing by himself with the older men I was talking to earlier, so I join him. I give him some of the whiskey I brought from Asgard.
One of the men speaks up, "I gotta have some of that."
"Oh, no no no. This has been aged for over a thousand years. It was not meant for man," I tell him.
"Neither was Omaha Beach. Now quit trying to scare us," another voices.
I look at Steve and he raises his eyebrows. I can't turn them down now, so I give them all some. One of them needed to be carried out. Steve leaves to talk to Banner and I talk to Rhodey more.
"So you have a baby girl waiting for back in Asgard? I bet you're itching to go home," he says.
"Yeah, it was hard leaving her and Elsi. I'm probably going back tomorrow after we clean all this up," I respond.
"You'll be the only one," he laughs, "Tony has housekeepers. You don't need to worry about that."
After a little while, everybody comes to join us. The Captain sits next to me and I hand him an action figure I found earlier. My hammer is sitting on the table and they're all fascinated by it.
"It's a trick!" Barton yells while spinning wooden sticks in his hands.
"It's much more than that," I inform him.
"He whoever worthy shall haveth the power! Whatever, man. It's a trick!" he exclaims.
"Please be my guest," I gesture to Mjolnir.
"Really?"
"Yeah," I answer.
"You've had a tough week, we won't hold it against you if you can't get it up," Stark mocks and everyone laughs.
Barton tries and fails to pick it up and Stark tries next. "So if I can pick it up, I get to rule Asgard?"
"Yes," I agree.
When he can't pick Mjolnir up, he puts the arm piece of his suit on. When that doesn't work, Rhodey helps him.
"Are we even pulling?" Rhodey asks.
"Are you on my team?" Stark sasses.
"Jut represent. Pull," Rhodey answers.
They give up when neither of them can pick it up. Banner tries next and acts like the Hulk. We look around at each other and nobody looks amused. Banner slinks back to his seat.
Steve tries next. "Come on Cap," Tony roots for him.
He budges it and my stomach drops. He moves his grip and gives up. I let out a relieved laugh, "Nothing."
Banner gestures to the hammer at Natasha. "Oh no, that's not a question I need answered," she turns it down.
"All respect to the king, but it's a trick," Tony says, standing up.
"You bet your ass," Barton pats his arm. "But, Thor, the first time I met you, you couldn't pick it up either and practically cried like a baby."
Everybody stops and looks between Barton and me. I raise an eyebrow, "What is it you Midgardians say when someone makes a good point?"
"Touché," Maria answers.
"Okay, touché. My father took my worthiness away, that's why I couldn't lift it," I tell everyone.
"It has your handprint, like a security code. He whoever carries Thor's handprints can pick it up? That's my theory," Stark claims.
"I have a much simpler one. You're all not worthy," I pick up Mjolnir.
An ear piercing noise sounds throughout the lounge and we all looking around. Stark looks at an electronic remote in his hand. That's when we notice the figure walking toward us.
"How could you be worthy? You're all killers," the robot says.
"Stark," the Captain says.
"Sorry, I was sleeping. I had this dream... I was tangled in strings. I had to kill the other guy. He was a nice guy," he replies.
"You killed someone?" Rogers asks.
"It wouldn't have been my first call. But, in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices," the robot answers.
"Is that true?" I question.
"I see a suit of armor around the world," it sounds like Tony.
"Ultron," Banner states.
"In the flesh. Well, no. Not yet. Not in this. I'm on a mission."
"What mission?" Natasha asks.
"Peace of our time," he responds.
Suddenly, two of Stark's suits fly out and attack us. Everyone is scattered and try to take them on. Natasha shoots one and Rogers tries to jump on another's back. The suit flies back against the wall and the Captain lets go. Another suit shoots at Banner and Natasha as they run up the stairs.
Barton flies against the wall and Stark jumps on its back. I hit one with my hammer then grab it and throw it to the floor below us. It stops moving. Stark is still wrestling with the suit he's on and the one I threw to the floor gets up and starts moving to attack the doctor.
Rogers throws it over to me and I hit it down with my hammer. Steve grabs his shield and runs to help someone. Stark gets thrown to the ground and Steve's shield goes flying. Barton throws it to him and he splits one of the suits in half by throwing the shield at it.
Ultron starts walking away, "That was dramatic. I'm sorry, I know you mean well, you just don't think it through. You want to protect the world, but how is humanity saved if it's not allowed to fall? There's only one path to peace; the Avengers extinction."
I throw Mjolnir at him and destroy him. But he still speaks, "I had strings but now I'm free. There are no strings on me."
