"A prestigious and elite school known for its unique and intense focus on gambling. It's not by any means an ordinary school, Catering to the children of Japan's wealthiest and most influential families, it prepares its students for the real world by immersing them in high-stakes gambling. The school's curriculum revolves around gambling, and students' social standings are determined by their gambling skills rather than academic or athletic achievements."

"The student council wields immense power and influence. It acts as the governing body of the school and is responsible for maintaining the gambling system that dictates the social hierarchy. Members of the student council are among the most skilled and ruthless gamblers in the academy, often using their positions to manipulate and control the student body. The council oversees all gambling activities, settles disputes, and enforces rules, ensuring that the gambling culture remains the core of the academy's spirit, but really, that's just it in a nutshell."

"You see, after the school's council board fell into the hands of its latest council president, it fell far deeper than that. "The house pet system", it's a cruel and degrading mechanism used to manage students who accumulate significant gambling debts. Those who lose substantial amounts of money and fail to repay their debts are labeled as "house pets." Male house pets are called "Fido," and female house pets are called "Mittens." House pets are treated as subhuman by their peers and are subjected to various forms of humiliation and servitude."

"They lose their rights and privileges, becoming the personal servants of the more successful students. Having fallen into the hands of their peers, many are coerced into serving the other's interests, be it explicit or not. The only way for a house pet to regain their status is by paying off their debts through further gambling, often resulting in a vicious cycle of losses and deeper subjugation."

Narrators POV

"Yumeko! There you are. There's an important assembly happening right now in the auditorium." came the voice of a male student.

He is a pale-skinned teenage boy of average height with neck-length messy brown hair and brown eyes. He wears the Hyakkaou Private Academy issue uniform that consists of a red blazer with black trim that lines the cuffs and collar and has gold buttons for decoration. He wears a white button-up shirt underneath with the top unbuttoned and a black tie, as well as a pair of gray-black colored school jeans and brown loafers.

Her curiosity piqued by Ryota's urgency, Yumeko looks up from her book, to see a slightly flustered Ryota catching his breath.

Yumeko is an average height, gorgeous girl with a voluptuous figure, she has long thick black hair styled in a hime-cut and burgundy eyes; as soon as she becomes thrilled, her eyes turn bright red. Additionally, she has pink glossed lips and red painted fingernails. In general she bears a striking resemblance to her late mother, and her older sister.

She wears the standard uniform issued to female students at Hyakkaou Private Academy: a red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, white button-up dress shirt and black cross ribbon tie, a black and grey checkered mini skirt, black tights, and brown loafers. Additionally, she wears a silver ring on her left thumb, which was one of parents' wedding ring.

She smiled. "An assembly? What's it about, Ryota?"

"It's a big announcement from the student council. Kirari Momobami is introducing someone new... their younger brother. Everyone's talking about it. You wouldn't want to miss this." The male, now named Ryota, explained.
