Chapter 5: Reunited

Hi, starlings! Another chapter is out! The picture above is of Oliva's mom, which I made using CHARAT. Also, I realized I made an error with Olivia's picture; I forgot to put the freckles on the bridge of her nose, like her mom. I don't have anything else new to add today, so let's get right into the chapter!

Olivia felt instant relief at the sight of the Ninja appearing unharmed. Her relief immediately turned to sadness when she saw Sensi Wu was not with them.

"Aah. This is a perfect place to lay low. No robots, no cameras, no problems," Lloyd said, pulling off the hood of his gi. Nya smiled and handed Lloyd a new green-colored gi.

"Still, if any aerial drones pass overhead, you better wear this. It will scramble their signal so they can't find you," she said. Lloyd nodded and went to put on the gi, not noticing that Olivia had been staring at him. Olivia felt the relief wash over her again once she saw Lloyd's face. To her, it felt like it had been ages since she had seen his green eyes, ruffled his blonde hair, and heard his voice. Anne poked Olivia's face.

"Liv, you there? You're staring," she whispered. Olivia snapped out of her daze and looked at Anne.

"Was I supposed to do something?" she asked, feeling the heat rising in her cheeks from embarrassment. Anne chuckled as Lloyd rejoined them.

"Yeah, this is sweet," he said as he admired the gi. Lloyd looked at Olivia and was about to say something to her when he heard a familiar voice call his name. He turned to see who was speaking to him. That's when he spotted his mom. "Mom?" He said in surprise.

"Oh. What are you all doing here?" Misako asked, taking notice of the others. Olivia sent the woman a smile. Misako saw and returned the smile.

"The Overlord's back, and New Ninjago City has fallen under his control. He has Sensei Wu," Lloyd explained. Anne and Olivia looked at each other nervously. They had both spent plenty of time with Sensi Wu and grown close to him. Misako noticed the girls' nervous faces. She looked at the others, who also appeared to have fallen faces.

"Wu's tough. There's a reason he's lived as long as he has," she responded, trying to encourage them. Her statement comforted the Ninja, although it did not stop them from worrying about their Sensi. Lloyd looked around her, trying to find his dad.

"Well, where's Dad?" he asked.

"Yeah, where's Lord Garmadon?" Kai added. Olivia looked at Kai, trying to read his face. She knew he was on guard, but it seemed that he didn't trust Lloyd's dad either.

"He no longer goes by Lord. Here, he is Sensei Garmadon, and he won't be back until this evening's lesson," Misako responded. This seemed to stun the Ninja. They hadn't expected their longtime enemy to become a sensei.

"Uh, did you just say Sensei Garmadon?" Jay asked, apparently speaking the mind of the others. Zane had more to add.

"I'm glad he's on our side now. With Sensei Wu gone, we could use the help," he said. Olivia nodded. Even though she had not met Garmadon when he was Lord Garmadon, she knew that the Overlord was terrible news and the Ninja would need someone with more wisdom and experience to assist them. Misako gestured towards the monastery, ushering the Ninja toward it.

"Come in, but your weapons are not allowed. Ever since Lloyd saved his father, Garmadon swore an oath to never fight in hope to make up for his evil past. It's an oath he takes very seriously," she said, pointing at the techno blades Cole, Zane, Kai, and Jay carried. The boys looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

"But we were supposed to protect these with our lives," Kai protested.

"And never let them out of our sight," Jay added. Zane, knowing that what they were saying was true, spoke up.
