Chapter 8: Family Magic

In these two days, the CBI team did everything in its extent to find Devin, but there was just no clue.

Their instinct told them some higher official was helping the kidnapper, there was no CCTV on the road from where he went missing, and these vital details are never known to general citizens..

A unit of the team had made a thorough analysis of the road officials, and hadn't found anything suspicious yet.

The team was also looking into the connection of the two cases..

Officers were high on coffee/tea, almost none of them had slept..

Rishi banged his phone on the bed in frustration..he had been calling Chirag since two days, so many messages too..but he had got no reply.

He just wanted to talk to him, about this connection he felt with him..

Rishi murmured as he got up from the bed to get his books:"Inke paas kabhi time hi nahi hota, mujhse baat hi nahi kar rahe.. atleast ek message toh kar hi sakte hai na.."

He put his books on the bed and studied to distract himself..

He studied for 3 hours, and then after checking his phone for one last time, he went to sleep.

Chirag rubbed his forehead, his head was aching due to lack of sleep and maybe even food..

As he glanced at the phone, he saw the time..

12:23 AM..

Chirag put the file down and then leaned on his chair..

He closed his eyes and thought of the things he had found by now..

After checking religious groups and rebels, they had shortlisted students who were aggressive about religion..

Looking into their past records and investigating them had given them no strong lead..

No political enemies, no involvement in any fights or rallies.

Devin had just one secret and there seemed to be no one who could have leaked it..

The only suspicious activity was Devin chatting to a girl in Instagram dms..

She was Sheena Roy, who called herself an atheist..

Surprisingly, the IP address of the person was cryptic. The account had been deactivated and chats deleted...

It was because of the cyber team that they knew about someone named Sheena in Devin's life.

In the phone, it looked like there was no Sheena Roy.

The cyber team was working on finding the person behind this account, and Chirag was trying to look into the first case, the murder..

The victim was identified as Ronny Mathew, who had no family, and was an orphan.

The boy had no friends and had been a loner, his address was found too, where they got to know the boy was a drug peddler..

They got no specific evidence from the house..

Chirag opened his eyes as he heard the phone make a noise.
He realised it was a message notification.

His friend had sent him a file with something written below: "DNA test results."

Chirag's eyes widened at the realisation, and he quickly opened the file after downloading it...

He scrolled through and saw the match..

He shared 50% DNA with Rishi...which meant they were full siblings..
