They always said that dragon's blood gave inhuman strength and Fae blood gave a longer life. They never told of how dragon's blood makes you feel like you are burning alive. They never told of how Fae blood rips the air from your lungs until you're choking on empty breaths.
It's not as if those were all that was injected into them, there was just no reason to keep track of what it was after the first few times: it was all-consuming pain no matter what. No reason for the test subject, however, the men in control of the tests were constantly noting down results and observations on parchment scrolls or in small, leather-bound books. All of this happened in a place locked far away from the rest of civilization, out of the prying eyes of those who would interfere; a dark and miserable fort thought abandoned in the North of the main continent, with snowfall so regular that the thin path was made invisible. No way of escaping, as it would be certain death to try to traverse down the mountain without a plan or proper equipment, but they underestimated how far frenzied anger and sheer force of will could get you.
