-Lily's POV-
Everyone came out of the maze as the shelter blew up.
I walked into the more open tree land, my eyes wide with shock and fear.
I can smell it.
The smoke.
"Hey, what is that smoke? Is it from the direction of the shelter?" Gillian asked.
Yuugo...
Lucas...
They aren't coming back.
Ray held my hand tightly as we watched the smoke in the air.
After a while, he managed to convince me to go back into the maze to make sure we were safe.
"It's been too long." Nigel spoke nervously as he rocked back and forth on the floor.
"Way too long." Oliver piped up.
Gillian sighed angrily as her fists clenched up, "I knew it. Something's happened." She said, as her hands flew to either side of her. "We need to go make sure! Find them! If we go now, we can hide in the dark and get near the shelter!"
Ray shook his head, "No." He said, "If we go and the enemies are still alive, there was no point in Yuugo and Lucas letting us escape."
"But, Ray!" Gillian pleaded. "They aren't coming, but the enemy hasn't come after us either! So they were probably able to defeat them! What if they were able to defeat the enemy but got injured or trapped?" She protested, tears beginning to form in the corners of her eyes now too. "If we go look for them now, we might be able to save them!"
"Or maybe the enemy defeated them and is still looking for us!" Ray yelled, "If that's the case, then Yuugo and Lucas will have died for nothing!"
I took a deep breath in as my head fell against the wall.
"Guys." Oliver said, trying to calm the situation down. "I think that's enough."
