Cam's POV.
Having a three week old baby at home is pretty stressful, but it's definitely worth it. And on top of that, Brooke has been staying with us for the last two weeks. The timing probably wasn't the greatest, but neither me nor Bri were complaining.

As I walked through the door, I heard tiny footsteps running toward the door and shortly after, Brooke's tiny body clung to my leg.

"Cam!"

"What's up, Lil Mama. Where's your sister?"

"In deh kitchen," she said, pointing behind her.

I went into the kitchen, and Briana was leaning against the counter with her eyes closed.

"NaNa, Cam home," Brooke announced.

Briana opened her eyes slowly, then turned her head to look at us and smiled. "Hey."

"Hey, baby."

I leaned down a little to kiss her lips, and she closed her eyes again. I know she must be tired considering she's the one that always gets up when Amina cries in the middle of the night, and she has to stay here while I'm gone everyday. I figured there was something I could try to do for her, so that's what I wanna do.

"I tried to make lunch so you could eat when you got home, but uh, that obviously didn't happen," she said groggily, keeping her eyes closed.

I smiled. "Don't worry about it. Why don't you go get some rest, and Brooke & I will make you something to eat."

She chuckled sleepily. "You sure?"

"Yes."

"Alright."

She stood up straight, kissed my lips & Brooke's cheek, then trudged upstairs.

"So," I said, setting Brooke on the counter. "What do you think we should make for NaNa?"

She hummed playfully and tapped her little index finger to her chin, making me chuckle.

"Chicken!" she blurted, throwing her hands in the air.

"Alright. We can do that."

After Briana woke up, we ate then relaxed in the living room. She laid her head in my lap, and I ran my fingers through her hair as we watched Brooke play with her toys.

"Remember when we first started talking, and you mentioned Brooke living with you after you graduated?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence.

"Yeah."

"How come you never brought it up again?" I asked.

"Well, when I told you that, I didn't know we'd be where we are now. And I didn't know how you'd feel about it."

I smiled and continued to run my fingers through her hair. "I like having her here, and I think it'd be nice for her to be raised with Amina."

She sat up quickly and judging by how big she was smiling, she liked the idea.

"Really?!"

I nodded. "In fact, I wanna show y'all something."

She picked Brooke up off the floor, and I led them upstairs to the room across from the nursery. I opened the door and Brooke gasped, jumped out of Briana's arms and ran in the room.

"Cam...when did you have time to do this?" Briana asked, looking around the Disney princess themed room.

"While I was doing the nursery," I admitted, "your grandfather and my mom helped me."

She smiled, wrapped her arms around my torso and laid her head against my chest. "I think she likes it."

We let her play in her new room, then went across the hall to check on Amina. Since she was sleeping, we went back downstairs. As soon as I reached the last step, the doorbell rang, and I went to open it.

"Hello, Cam."

I was so taken aback by who was standing at the door, I couldn't even get out a simple "hi."

"Babe, who's at the —"

I turned around and Briana was standing behind me like she saw a ghost. She slowly walked up and stood beside me.

"Mama, Daddy, what are y'all doing here?" she asked quietly.

"We wanted to see our daughter and our first grandchild."

~

Briana's POV.
Standing in front of my parents, I was literally stunned. Six months ago, my mom was calling my baby a bastard, but now she's saying she wants to see "her grandchild."

Cam & I reluctantly moved out of the way so they could come in, then led them to the living room. I went upstairs and checked on Brooke, then got Amina and went back downstairs.

I placed Amina in my dad's arms, simply because I still don't trust my mom. He smiled at her, and it made me wonder if he's ever looked like that when I was a baby.

"She looks just like you when you were a baby, Bri."

I smiled at my dad's words, but my smile quickly faded when I saw my mom's face.

"So what are y'all really doing here?" I asked, sitting on Cam's lap. "I know y'all didn't come all the way here just to see us."

My dad seemed genuinely hurt by my statement, making me believe he actually came here with good intentions. But my mom, she sat up straight, pushed some hair behind her ear and clasped her hands together in her lap.

"We want money," my mom blurted bluntly.

"You want money, Alisha," my dad spat, "I came to see my granddaughter."

I chuckled out of pure disbelief and shook my head. I really can't believe she just said that to me.

"It's not like you don't have it," she scoffed, "your baby daddy is a got damn football player."

I blew out a sharp breath and Cam's grip on my waist tightened. This woman has lost her everlasting mind if she thinks I'm gonna let my boy– fiancé, give her money.

"And what makes you think I would ever give you anything?" I asked curtly.

"You owe us."

Once again, I chuckled, not believing the words coming out of her mouth.

"You have never done anything for me, so what do I owe you? The best thing you've ever done for me was give up your rights as my mother."

I've never talked to my mom like that, but she crossed a line this time.

"I think it's time for y'all to leave," I said quietly.

She stormed out of the living room, and my dad handed Amina to Cam. I noticed his eyes were glossy as he pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head.

"I love you, baby girl," he whispered to me, "and I'm sorry."

That was the last thing said before he disappeared out of the living room, and I heard the front door close.

After Cam took Amina back upstairs, he lied with me on the couch without saying a word.

Alisha is never gonna be the mom I want her to be, and I guess I'm just gonna have to deal with that. But I don't need her. I have Cam & his family, my family and my dad's starting to come around, and that's all that matters.
