SynopsisAt the delicate age of seven, Amali grasped that legacy held more significance than a path independent of the last names she carried.
A third generation Whitfield-Malinucci, she came from a patrimony of nearly mythical, record shattering tennis players. The First American Family of Sports, The First Family of Sports, undisputedly. It was incontestable in their field of view, that the pursuit for greatness was never a matter of choice, but a matter of duty, and that greatness could not be achieved in broader realms. Greatness resided in tennis-greatness was tennis, and nothing else.
Asani, her older brother of nine years, was set to be the golden child who'd carry the family torch into the new era of tennis. The teenager was gradually proving himself to be the biggest upcoming menace to the young generation of male players-that was until he fell victim of an adverse accident, prematurely putting an end to one of the most promising careers that never was.
Seven at the time, Amali witnessed the burden of bearing the family name be placed on her shoulders, the same way the second royal child, often referred to as the spare, would watch the attention and pressure shift onto them, following the death of the first heir.
Amali would go on to embrace this lifelong role with utmost respect and dedication.
However, she wasn't the only one with a hefty title to carry. While she pledged allegiance to the First Family of Sports, he was a component of the The First Family of New York City.
Michael Jackson II, son of Adam Jon Jackson, infamous former mayor of New York City, was initiated into politics, and all that ran in parallel with it, at an early age. Crooked men with questionable motives, little to no principles and more often than not, hundreds of skeletons hidden in their closet-Michael had seen them all.
Having no aspiration to linearly trail his father's footsteps, and missteps, yet still seeking to be thoroughly involved with his beloved city, Michael decided to walk the path of urban architecture-a sector he now thrived in.
The day Amali and Michael exchanged vows in 1992, against their own will, but under the authority of their parents' wishes, they both truly began assimilating into the vicious circle in which life spiraled, when heritage was put on the highest of socles, knocking off bona fide love and freedom of self.
It is now 1997, and despite five years of marriage, the two still appeared to not have dug up, let alone searched for the answer to the ensuing question.
How fairly can one play the game of life, when the heart does not abide by the rules?
