Jessica slammed her locker door shut so loud that Nessa jumped next to her. "In his guest house?"

"On his grandfather's property." Ani tried to defend herself from what she had just told the girls. "He didn't live there when my mum took the job. Obviously I would have told you both ages ago, but...I never made the connection until yesterday. We never talked about it, either of you."

"Yeah, we know. It's just..." Nessa trailed off. "I, for one, never really said anything because I finally had the chance to not be the victim."

Jessica nodded. "Yeah, it felt nice. Refreshing. I could just be strong."

"Well that's how both of you are. To me." Ani reassured the girls. They both smiled as they realized that to one person, they were strong women instead of helpless victims.

"Does he ever try to talk to you?" Jessica asked Ani, and she looked noticeably uncomfortable.

"Uh, no, not really." Ani said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. "I don't see him. I'm not allowed in the main house."

"Okay." Jessica said softly. "You have to be careful."

"I always am." Ani said quickly, but Nessa could tell something was up.

"Promise us." she said, and Ani nodded.

"I promise."

"I'd like to welcome the new members of the student council." Principal Bolan said as he handed papers to Jessica and Nessa, as well as the rest of their board at the front table. This was a new feeling for Nessa, she felt very in control. "And I'd like to begin discussion on the spring Powder Puff Flag Football Fundraiser."

If only she could ban Montgomery from these meetings, life would be at peace.

"Actually, I'd like to start discussion with Liberty hosting a spring Take Back the Night event." Jessica cut the principal off.

"Okay." Principal Bolan said as the jocks started shaking their heads. "Let me remind you that Powder Puff is our primary spring fundraiser."

"But girls in bikinis playing football isn't really why I was elected, so..."

"You can't mess with Powder Puff!" Montgomery said firmly as he stood up, making Nessa roll her eyes as she sat back into her seat. "I'm a coach this year. Pow!"

"Sit your ass down, Montgomery." Nessa spat. "You're out of order."

Montgomery did what he was told, but not without muttering some choice words about Nessa and Jessica to his fellow teammates, who got ridiculed by Principal Bolan.

The meeting ended soon enough, and everyone trailed out except for Jessica, Ani and Nessa. They stayed back to talk to each other. As almost everyone had left, the same girl from the assembly walked up to the group.

"Well, that was pure bullshit." the girl said harshly. "And fucking Bolan?"

"I know!" Jessica said, and Nessa nodded in agreement. "Casey, right?"
