In which the Daughter of Ares falls in love with the Son of the Snow Queen.
"Once Upon a time, long, long ago..." Mal narrates. "Well, more like 20 years ago, Bell married her Beast in front of 6,000 of their closest personal friends. Big cake. Yeah, so instead of a honeymoon, Beast united all the kingdoms and got himself elected king of the United States of Auradon. He rounded up all the villains and sidekicks, basically all the interesting people, and he booted them off to the Isle of the Lost with a magical barrier to keep them there. This is my hood, no magic, no Wi-Fi, no way out. Or so I thought...hang on, you're about to meet us. But here's what happened."
Ben Florian looks out of his window, staring at the Isle of the Lost while Lumiere is measuring him.
Lumiere turns Ben's head to the side. "Sleeve. Head. Ah-ha!"
As Ben is getting his measurements checked, King Beast and Queen Belle walk into the room.
"How is it possible that you're gonna be crowned king next month? You're just a baby," Beast pouts as he looks at his son.
"He's turning 16, dear," Belle reminds him.
"Hey, pops," Ben greets.
"16?" Beast asks. "That's far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least 42."
Belle looks up at her husband. "Uh, you decided to marry me at 28," she tells him.
"Ah, it was either you or the teapot," Beast says before seeing the look on his wife's face. "Kidding, I'm only kidding!"
Ben sighed before facing his parents. "Mom, Dad..." he tries to walk forward but is stopped by Lumiere. "I've chosen my first official proclamation. I've decided that the children on the isle of the lost will be given a chance to live here in Auradon. Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they've been abandoned."
"Children of our sworn enemies?" Beast questioned. "Living among us?"
Ben continued. "We start out with a few at first, only the ones who need our help the most. I've already chosen them."
"Have you?" Beast asked.
"I gave you a second chance," Belle countered before turning back to Ben. "Who are their parents?"
Ben sighed before listing the names. "Cruella De Vil...Jafar...Evil Queen...Ares...and Maleficent."
Lumiere yelps once Ben says the last name.
"Maleficent?" Beast cried. "She is the worst villain in the land!"
"Dad, just hear me out here!" Ben pleaded.
"I won't hear of it!" Beast demanded. "They are guilty of unspeakable crimes!"
"But their children are innocent!" Ben insisted. "Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life? Dad?"
Beast and Belle look at each other. Belle believes what her son is saying.
Beast sighs. "I supposed their children are innocent."
"Well, well done," Belle tells Ben. "Shall we?"
