Leaf was standing on the balcony. She was at a party to celebrate Ash becoming the champion. She never liked parties. And she question why she even decided to go. But she already knew the answer. It was because of him. The boy who barley even noticed her, much less talked to her. He knew her name and that was it. But she couldn't help the feelings for him.
Leaf never believed in love at first sight until it happened to her. But was I really love? As far as she knew yes. Doesn't love have to go both ways? Yes. And that was exactly Leaf predicament. Leaf never doughed herself but knew she didn't have a chance. I mean he had a whole team of cheerleaders! How could she compete with that.
Leaf leaned against the railing looking out on the little town. The town was really small. There were only 8 houses. She thought it was small at least. She always dreamt of being bigger and better. She wanted to be in the Elite Four or even the champion. She questioned why Ash chose to stand on a cold mountain all day. But maybe she just didn't understand. But Leaf wouldn't know, she never went on a Pokemon journey. Instead she stayed and helped out Professor Oak. She didn't mind it though Because Gary would drop by rather often giving he some eye candy to look at.
"Hey! common your missing the party!" Ash said as he grabbed her hand and pulled Leaf off the balcony and downstairs to a big room packed with people. Leaf faked a smile. Just because she wasn't enjoying the party didn't mean she wanted ash to know. She didn't want to make him feel bad or sad or anything else of that matter.
After a few minutes of Ash talking, he left her but Leaf didn't mind. She was actually kinda relived. Ash was her best friend but boy, could he talk. Leaf found he way over to a girl that she had come to know quite well. Misty. She was wearing a cerulean Blue dress. Much fancier than Leafs regular black one. "Hey, Leaf" the red headed girl said as Leaf approached her.
"What's up?" Leaf asked as she sat down at the table Misty was sitting at. It was quieter By the tables. Much easier to hear, so you don't have to scream to be herd by a person three inches away.
Leaf looked around the room as Misty answered. "Nothing really. I can't believe Ash is leaving To Mount Silver. He told me I could visit him as much as I'd like but I mean Its cold on mount Silver." Misty continued talking but at this point Leaf wasn't listening. She was looking for a certain Oak. She couldn't help but smile as she found him in the big crowd of people. His light brown hair that Leaf could just imagine running he fingers through. "Leaf!" Misty punched he friend softly on the arm. "Are you listening?" Leaf nodded and turned towards Misty.
"Good. So he told me he loved me and I told him I loved him too but I mean how could It work of hes on MT. Silver all the dang time?!?!" Misty continued. Leaf closed her eyes. Trying to clear he mind. But then Professor Oak called everyone over for Ash's speech. Leaf and Misty got up and walked towards the stage. Ash was getting the microphone to cooperate. And after a minute Ash was telling his heart warming speech.
"A lot of people helped me on my Journey. Some are not here tonight but I just wanna name off the people who are." Ash continued smiling sweetly. He sniffed and Leaf bet his eyes were getting teary. "Some of the people who helped me the most are my girlfriend Misty." He smiled down at her gesturing her to come on stage. But even after she was on stage he was still gesturing to come up. Did he mean Leaf? Leaf pointed to herself and he nodded. "And my best friends Leaf and Brock." she walked onto the stage a bit nervous. "And lastly my rival. He helped me get stronger because I just aways wanted to beat him," Ash paused.
"Please don't say-"Leaf whispered to herself but got interrupted by Ash saying Gary Oak. She sighed and looked at the ground. Just the sound of his name made her blush. He walked onto the stage and of coarse had to stand dreadfully close to her. Leaf stood there next to Gary for about five minutes until Ash's speech was over. After she Quickly tried to walk off the stage, but tripped. she braced myself to fall on my face. But someone caught me before she fell. Leaf got on my feet still not looking up at who had helped me.
"Leaf, are you okay?"He asked. A voice She had only heard a handful of times. Leaf winced. 'Why did It have to be him?!?!?' Leaf asked herself
"Yeah I'm fine." Leaf said as she began to walk away. But Gary grabbed her arm and asked her something before she got away.
"Ive been meaning to ask you... Do you wanna dance?" He asked. Leaf Thought about this. Did he just say 'Ive been meaning to ask you'? "Please." He smiled. and at that point Leaf couldn't say no. She nodded. Gary smiled widely and led her to the dance floor. As they danced Leaf felt like she was Cinderella. She couldn't stop smiling and nor could Gary.
At the end of night Gary said goodbye to Leaf. Then he did something Leaf wasn't ready for. He kissed her on the cheek! And yes it was a little gesture but It meant so much to Leaf. Then Gary walked away and for some reason she wasn't sad. Maybe it was the realisation the he only lived two houses away from her. But she was as happy as she had ever been. Did I every mention how much Leaf loved parties?
