The First day

It all started pretty much like this, "R.K.O Out of nowhere!" yelled a boy as he grabbed another boy by his neck sending him through a steel enforced table. It was then that I had figured out that this was no Joy ride. "This is War!" Yelled another boy. And with that, the life of 13 year old Daniel at Presentation College had begun.
It was Daniel's first day at High School, as he walked through the hallow walls of Presentation College, he knew that great things were destined for him in this A-Class learning institution. Slowly he trotted to his form 1 classroom which seemed to be A million miles away. Or maybe it was because of his heavy bag perched on his back.
Atlas, he had arrived and entered what looked like the reckage of World War 1. Desks were crushed, chairs were broken and the ceiling fans were dilapidated, giving off nothing but hot air and dust into the atmosphere.
It was then that Daniel was approached by a Chinese boy with jet black here which poke out like tiny needles from his head. His name was Fung Lee. What a name I thought to myself as he approached me, but little did I know that we were about to become the best of friends! He was similar to Daniel in many ways. They were both smart, vibrant and athletic. He spent the rest of the day with his new best friend, or so he thought.
The day had gotten off to quite a start. Presentation College was not only highly rated academically but also it was a very active school. I guess you can say it was like the stone ages in which you had to be fit to survive. Daniel was a very all round and industrious student. He was the perfect role model. Unlike his friend Fung who was the Biggest nerd in the class! Friends in Presentation had to look out for each other. And Daniel was surely doing a perfect job at that.
This is how it happened; at Recess time, all the boys in Form 1 were given a chance to play football on a Vast open Field. Fung was very clumsy. In fact, that day a ball came flying through the air directly at Fung's head. Fung immediately blocked the ball with his hands sending it airborne into the sky. Unfortunately, the ball had gone over the fence and landed in the dead center of the next door swimming pool. All the boys came down on Fung like a hurricane on Rainy day. They threatened to beat him until he bled.
Fung became petrified! And began to quake in his boots, as he could not swim. Daniel, being a good friend decided to do his friend a favour and "take one for him." Daniel dove into the pool in nothing but his trousers. But little did he know that the pool had a very thin fish net inside it so that no animals could get in and to avoid people from sneaking into the pool when it was closed. Daniel became entwined in the net and began to drown. He fought for air as he tried and tried to reach the surface.
"Splash!" Went the water. And it would be no other than Fung diving into the pool to save him. Daniel and Fung became best friends from that day on, but unfortunately because of this incident, Daniel had been giving the nickname "Fish Boy" and was the laughing stock at school, but it was ok for he had forged a friendship which would never be broken. What a first day of High school this was for Daniel.
