His face turned into a disgusted scowl as he raised his voice, “How could he do that to you?”
I looked down, closed my eyes, and bit my lips, waiting for him to scorn my boyfriend.
As I knew that he was done, I returned to my normal posture and said, “Okay. Let's go home before he sees me.”
“Why should we go, Advika?” He stood up and continued, “I'm sorry to comment on your boyfriend, but… He deserves a closure, Advika. He doesn't deserve you leaving him without questions. Make him regret for what he did to you. People like him deserve only that and nothing else.”
Upon realising that he had a point, I nodded my head and requested, “Okay. You come along with me.”
He placed his hands on my shoulders, his grip as firm as iron, as he said, “It's your boyfriend. You deal with it. I'll be waiting for you. Right here.” He pointed below at the place he was standing. “I won't budge a little until I see you. Go, Mia Anima. I know you're fearless.”
A fresh gust of courage brushed through me as I nodded subtly and walked on my way to teach that bastard a lesson.
As I reached the dark alley where dark stuff was going on, I saw the couple standing there, to my good luck. As I was closer to them, I heard Harsh say, “Of course, I'm single. Don't I look like one?” with his iconic Joker-esque grin.
Before the girl could complete chuckling, I noticed the colour drain out of Harsh's face as I greeted, “Hi, baby,” with a grin as natural as it was. “I missed you,” I pouted while giving him a hug tight enough to leave the girl tight in confusion. As I broke the hug, I turned to the lady and extended my hand for a handshake. “Hi! I'm Vriddhi. Harsh's girlfriend.” I don't want gossip lurk in the office involving my real name, hence I lied.
“Hi,” the girl greeted while accepting my handshake. “I'm Smriti. Harsh's—”
“Sister, right?” I chuckled as if I knew it and continued, “I knew it!”
“Oh, really.” I sensed Smriti's smile to be fake as I noticed her sending those deadly glares to Harsh. “That liar,” she muttered as if she wanted nobody to hear it, yet everyone to hear it. Her face went as stiff as a militant's biceps while she stepped half an inch close to Harsh and her hands swung to his cheek in the most loudest way possible.
Looks like it was destined for me to see this plot twist.
As she done with slapping the flabbergasted Harsh, she walked away from us while muttering cuss words, the sound of her heels clicking filling the awkward silence.
“God, I hope Smriti doesn't tell this to everyone in the office,” said my boyfriend who would no longer be my boyfriend.
“Wow! Looks like your sister is mad at you.” I quoted the word “sister” in the air and shifted my focus to Harsh, whose colourless face shifted into something so red. “And, Harsh, did you have a good time kissing?” I asked, hinting an “It's over” in my query.
“You bitch!” He yelled the code word of “I am going to beat you to pulp” while I sprinted as fast as I could, trying to escape from him.
I looked back and saw him running towards me, matching my pace, hence I made it harder for him by sprinting faster, only to stop by as I reached Ishaan.
Before he could try to guess what was going on, I urged, “Ishaan. Let's go, go, go.”
I looked back and found Harsh dashing into a female staff and apologising to her. After done with it, he looked at me with eyes as wide as an ostrich and yelled something inaudible, due to the distance between us.
