Ψ . . . YOU LOOK LIKE YOU STEPPED on a dead rat. Are you okay?

We have gym class today.

And?

I despise gym class.

Why? Don't tell me you can still be bad even with all of your abilities.

I could easily beat everyone if I wanted to, but I don't want to bring attention to myself. I have to make sure that I end up firmly in the middle of the class in all of our activities.

And you said I had an ego. People would kill for abilities like yours, and you're trying to pass yourself off as normal.

I didn't ask for an opinion.

Geez, touchy. Worry not, Saiki. As long as we're on the same team, I'll make sure you look average. In fact, everyone will look average compared to how godly I am.

Good grief.

The torture method that Matsuzaki decided on today was dodgeball. As the coach divided everyone up, Saiki realized with a sinking feeling that Nendo and Hairo were going to be on the same team. Hairo was ridiculously competitive, and Nendo was an unexpectedly gifted athlete. The opposite team was going to be soundly beaten.

Gojo's eyes widened when they didn't end up on Saiki's team. He was about to tell them there was no use in switching, but they were already sliding their glasses into their hair, their Six Eyes gleaming.

"Matsuzaki-sensei, would it be alright if I switched to Saiki's team?"

"You don't need to be on the same team just because you're friends."

"Oh, but Saiki's not just my friend," Gojo said. Everyone quieted down at that, a few suspicious eyebrows going up. Saiki kept his face blank.

Gojo, whatever you're doing, stop it.

Gojo clasped their hands together. "Saiki was my first friend at PK Academy, sir. He's been like a guardian to me. It's been a struggle to adjust, but Saiki is such a kind and caring guy. I'd feel a lot better if I could be on his team. I'd feel like I'm betraying his trust otherwise."

Gojo is so loyal! everyone thought admiringly. Saiki resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

Matsuzaki raised his eyebrows but sighed when Gojo smiled sheepishly at him.

"Fine. But only because you're new, Gojo."

"You're the best, sir!" Gojo said, saluting him. They jogged back towards Saiki and shot him a thumbs up.

You're welcome, Saiki.

Good grief. You just made things harder for yourself.

The gym was more crowded than usual on account of Gojo's assembled fans. They weren't as annoying as Teruhashi's fanclub, but just a few minutes of listening to them internally fawn over Gojo was enough to make Saiki miserable. It didn't help that Gojo started doing a series of suggestive stretches, obviously preening for their audience.

Teruhashi was also watching the game, incognito under a baseball hat and a large pair of sunglasses. Rifuta had admitted defeat to Gojo after being sister-zoned, but Teruhashi still considered Gojo a threat. She was trying to pinpoint exactly what it was about Gojo that made them so appealing, aside from their white hair and piercing blue eyes. She also found it odd that they hadn't once gasped because of her yet. It was concerning.

Saiki sighed to himself. This gym class could not end soon enough.

Alright, Saiki, here's our game plan. You just stand back and look pretty while I carry our team to victory.
