"How are you feeling?" Rae Hoon asked as he tucked me into bed.
We were staying the night in Ivy's penthouse, just above her bar. She's still busy downstairs dahil inaasikaso niya ang lasing nyang manliligaw.
While Rae Hoon had taken care of
my medications and checked my vitals. "A bit tired, mixed emotions and everything," I admitted truthfully."Did something happen while I was gone?" he inquired, likely referring to the incident that caused my heart attack.
I quickly looked away. "You know him, right?"
"Yes, I remember who he is," Rae Hoon responded, his tone steady but concerned.
"You asked him to run a test for me?"
paglilihis ko sa usapan. Pakiramdam ko kasi kapag ina-alala 'yon, sasabog ang puso ko't titigil pa sa pag tibok."Not gonna lie, I did," Rae Hoon admitted, gently pulling up the blanket for me.
"It's important to check in on you. You really had me worried, you know? Can you try not to do anything reckless for once?"
I sighed, a mix of guilt and gratitude washing over me. "I'm really sorry," I mumbled, staring down at my hands.
Rae Hoon let out a soft sigh, his expression softening. "I've heard you say that so many times, but you always manage to pull the same stunt. Seriously," he said, raising an eyebrow at me.
I couldn't help but chuckle. "Okay, okay! I'll try to keep my recklessness a bit tamer next time."
"Good, because I can't keep worrying about you like this," he replied, a teasing smile breaking through. "I also need you to look after yourself, Tin," he gently urged, giving my shoulder a little squeeze.
Mabilis naman akong tumango-tango. "I am trying, but everything has stretched my emotions so thin that I feel like I could break into pieces at any moment. I promise to pull myself together before we go back. I really want to see that kid," I said, my eyes growing heavy with exhaustion.
Rae Hoon sat quietly beside, watching over me as I settled into sleep. "I know, we'll see him tomorrow. Don't worry too much. Now, get some rest."
I smiled weakly. "Thanks, Rae. I could have fall for you... but I'm your grandma," I joked softly before closing my eyes, finally letting sleep take over.
The dawn was breaking, casting a soft glow across my room. It was just the right time to get out of bed and walk towards the windows. As I pulled back the curtains, the sun greeted me with its warm and gentle rays, filling me with a fleeting sense of calm.I took a deep breath, knowing I needed to harness this moment of peace for the challenging day ahead.
My mind drifted to the tasks waiting for me at the hospital. It wasn't going to be an easy day. I had to face Ethan, a friend I wasn't on good terms with, and handle the transfusion for the child I'd rescued. The memory of the child's hopeful eyes and the weight of my responsibility pressed on me.
