Rachel was 8 years old when her mom and dad split up. She was so mad with her dad because he left them. He told Rachel that he will come back for her but he didn’t. Her mom raised her all alone. She gave Rachel all except for one and that is LOVE. After she graduated high school, she refuse to go to college.
A typical day in Rachel Louise Barrera's life…
“Rachel you have to go to college!’’ her mom exclaimed. “ What will happen to you?! You will become like other teenagers who doesn’t have work. Or else…” and she stopped like she was out of words. It always happens when she thinks of Rachel's dad.
“Or else what, mom?! You will send me to states. You will disinherit me. You will forget me as your daughter.”
“No.” her mom told with tears almost in her eyes. “Let’s just forget this stupid conversation. Now get your things and go take your exam for college. Mang Esmong will take you to school.”
“No!!!” she argue again.
“Rachel Louise Barrera! You will go to college. Take the course of business management and finish it for 4 years. If you don’t go to college I will freeze your account, your credit cards and I will stop giving you your allowance.” she said like a lecturer.
Rachel taught of it for a while. She put my IPOD on, get her things, ride on the car and as always her mom said “Now I am late for my meeting.’’
And that’s how Rachel's first day as a college student started.
