third person pov.

When Lisa got home from work she took off all her clothes and crawled into bed. Moments later she was fast asleep. The day had worn her out. Luckily she had set an alarm for her to wake up so she could have more than enough time to get ready for her date with Cameron. She sighed. She was still tired and in a mood. Her nap wasn't nearly long enough. She rolled over and stared at the ceiling. Even though her date was with Cameron, her mind was on Jennie. She wanted her Daddy to come cuddle and fuss over her. She dialed her number and let it ring a few times. She thought maybe she wouldn't answer until her Daddy's sultry voice came low and clear through the receiver.

"Hi, love." Jennie answered. She was about to get out of her car but closed the door and settled back inside when she saw it was Lisa that was calling.

"Hi, Daddy." Lisa whined softly. Her voice was so little and cute. Jennie smiled.

"Lili. What are you doing, baby?"

"I just woke up." Lisa said curling into a ball under her blankets.

"You sound like you need to go back to sleep." Jennie looked at her watch. It would be time for Lisa to start getting ready for her "date" with captain dipshit.

Lisa giggled. "I do. What are you doing?" Jennie repeatedly locked and unlocked her car doors. She was sitting outside of her restaurant, mindlessly watching Yumi through the window.

"Nothing. Do you miss me?"

"Yeth." Lisa said. She was sucking her thumb. Her pacifiers were at Jennie's house.

"Daddy misses you too. Are you sucking your thumb, baby?" Jennie asked. She wished she could see and be with her right now. She wanted to be there to hold and nuzzle her little baby.

"Yeth. You haf my pacis." Lisa mumbled.

"I know. Hey, sweet girl. You have to be a big girl right now and get up. You uh...." Jennie squeezed her steering wheel in frustration and let it go "you have somewhere to be."

"That make Daddy sad?" Lisa asked. She heard the pain in Jennie's silence. "I sowwy."

"No baby. Daddy isn't sad." Jennie was lying but it wasn't her place to be sad. Lisa had to have a life outside of their bet, she knew that. She's the one that made the stupid bet.

"When I see you I'm going to give you so many kisses." Lisa said giggling. If she could trust Jennie with her heart she'd abandon the thought of entertaining anyone else. If Jennie told her not to go on this date, she wouldn't think twice about canceling. She knew that wouldn't happen. Jennie just wasn't the commitment type and Lisa knew that.

"How much is so many?" Jennie asked, smiling. She wanted to tell Lisa how much she wanted her to herself but couldn't make herself say it. She couldn't put herself out there to get hurt like that. She was scared and that's all it boiled down to.

"Too many to count." Lisa looked at the time and realized she couldn't put getting ready off a minute longer.

"Daddy?"

"Yes, love?"

"I have to go shower now." Lisa said curling her hair around her finger. She didn't want to go.

"I know. I'll talk to you tomorrow okay?"

"Okay. Bye bye." Jennie sighed and teased her bottom lip.

"See you later, Lili." Lisa frowned and waited for Jennie to hang up. Jennie was waiting for the same. Eventually, the line went dead and Lisa forced herself to get up and get ready for her date.

Cameron arrived at Lisa's door at six o'clock on the dot. She was a very punctual person. She hated being late and she liked order to everything in her life. They were at the restaurant now and she still couldn't get over how good Lisa looked. Cameron couldn't take her eyes off of her. The thing about Cameron is she's very old fashioned. She didn't like to rush things. There would be no hanky panky on the first date. Maybe a kiss goodnight if she was lucky. However, if Lisa kept dressing like this, waiting was going to be a battle.

"Thank you for agreeing to come out tonight." Cameron said after she pulled Lisa's chair out.

"You're welcome. Thanks for asking." Lisa looked around. There had been some renovations done to this place since the last time she'd been there. It was really nice.

"Uh you know what? I probably should have asked before I brought you here but are you a vegetarian or vegan?" Cameron started to panic just a little.

Lisa laughed softly and shook her head. "No. That's just Jennie's thing."

Cameron was relieved. "So you two are pretty close, huh?"

"Yup. We grew up together. She's my best friend."

Cameron nodded. "You really trust her?"

Lisa gave her a skeptical look. "With my life. Why would you ask me that?"

Cameron realized she had overstepped. She didn't want to ruin their night with her personal vendetta. "I'm sorry if it came out like I was implying she wasn't to be trusted. We should change the subject."

Lisa folded her hands in her lap and relaxed. Cameron probably didn't mean anything by it. She was being unnecessarily defensive. "We should. Tell me a little about yourself. All I know is that you're a cop."

Cameron took a deep breath and thought she should lead with the most vital information. If things between them were going to work she knew she had to be forthcoming. "I have a daughter. I share custody with my ex-wife."

"Oh!" Lisa was shocked to say the least. "You have a...a child? And an ex-wife?" Lisa took a sip of water. "How old is she?"

"My ex-wife or my daughter?" Cameron asked.

Lisa chuckled. "Your daughter. I'm sorry." She realized now how quickly she asked the questions.

"Seven going on forty-five." Cameron joked. She smiled just thinking about her little wise cracker.

"Oh!" Lisa wasn't sure about what to say. "That's sweet." It was clear Lisa was uncomfortable.

"Look, if having a kid is a deal breaker, that's okay. We can just finish the rest of our evening and stay friends. No hard feelings." Cameron would be disappointed but it was better to find out now than wait until later.

"No. No, not at all. I'm just very surprised. That's all. Can I ask why you and your wife are no longer together?" Lisa asked. She was a naturally inquisitive person and this piqued her curiosity.

Cameron's cheeks turned pink. "Um....because apparently David from accounting told her she was pretty far more often than I did. He noticed when she got her hair cut and a long list of other things I never bothered to do." Cameron rolled her eyes. Admittedly, she could have been more attentive, but Grace could also have given her a chance to fix it. They both were a little checked out of the marriage before it all went to hell. They got married young and dumb and eventually it just fell apart.

"Oh. Well I guess that will do it. I should tell you now, I like compliments." Lisa smiled a little and Cameron returned a bigger one. She wasn't sure about this date at first but it might just shape up to be a good night.
