As the aarti concluded, the scent of burning incense and the sound of ringing bells slowly faded. The temple's atmosphere was filled with a serene calm. Rudra and I accepted the prasad, feeling a sense of completion and fulfilment after the long, devotional night.
The prasad, a simple yet divine offering of fruits, sweets, and holy water, tasted heavenly after our strict fast. Each bite felt like a blessing, a reward for our devotion and dedication. Rudra and I exchanged a glance, a silent acknowledgment of the spiritual journey we had just shared.
With the prasad finished, we made our way back to the hotel. The walk through the temple complex was peaceful, the early morning sun casting a gentle light over everything. The security team remained vigilant, ensuring our safety as we moved through the sparse crowd of early risers.
Once inside our hotel room, the comfort of the space provided immediate relief. I could see the weariness in Rudra's eyes, a testament to the intensity of the night's vigil and rituals. He looked at me, his expression softening.
"Let's rest for a while," he suggested, his voice gentle but firm.
I nodded, feeling the fatigue settle in now that the adrenaline of the rituals had worn off. We both freshened up quickly, washing away the remnants of the temple and the night. The simple act of washing my face and hands felt grounding, bringing me back to the present moment.
Dressed in comfortable clothes, we settled onto the bed. The room was quiet, a stark contrast to the vibrant energy of the temple. I could feel the weight of the past month lift slightly, replaced by a sense of calm and peace. I didn't know when the fatigue took over and I dozed off beside Rudraksh.

I woke up quite early despite the fatigue I was feeling last night which was quite surprising. Looking beside me, I found Rudra sleeping peacefully, wrapped up in the duvet, all the tension and worry off his face. He looked so serene, the slight stubble on his face made him look even more appealing then he already was.
I know that he is a really light sleeper but taking advantage of the fatigue, I raked my fingers through his hair before putting a feathery kiss on his forehead. Then I climbed off the bed, rushing to the washroom, as I literally felt my bladder crying in protest against my pda at the wrong time. After a quick freshening up session, I came out, wiping my face with a towel only to find Rudra squinting his closed eyes, looking disturbed because of the sunlight falling on his face from the balcony doors. I closed the curtains, preventing the sunlight from entering the room, before picking up the hotel intercom.
I scanned through the menu card and then asked the hotel authority to deliver our brunch, since I was hungry and I knew Rudraksh wouldn't be up for going out either. After informing them about some specific changes in our meals, considering Rudra’s likes and dislikes, I asked them to send two cups of coffee as well, but in the vacuum flask.
