Chapter 17: Trailer Release
"Now, let us hear Qin An's results please." Jiang Su motioned the mentors after they discussed for a moment. The crowd immediately raise their ears to hear while Chen Wei quietly clenches his fist, apparently not confident as before.
On the other side, Qin An has the same calmness on his face, looking more relaxed than them that they couldn't help but wonder if he's just pretending or confident.
Qin An is really calm at this moment. Whatever the decision may be, it will not erase the sudden relief inside him. He didn't care about his class at this time because he is still somewhat immersed in his performance. He was actually surprised too by the emotions that he had conveyed. While he was practicing, his mind was only thinking about doing his best because of the gratitude that he felt towards Li Bai and the thought of doing this as a job to make money. Even though he already had an inspiration, it's not enough to be wholeheartedly devoted to being an idol.
Qin An is still on a slow progress and he knows that things will have to be done step by step in this process.
But when he was on the stage, he suddenly had an enlightenment about the song. While standing on this stage and being watched by many people, he suddenly couldn't help but let them know what his perspective was.
It was like when he's on Earth, even if people acknowledge religion, it's still hard for them to believe that it's really real without seeing the truth. Aside from those people who were gifted, only those who died knew that everything was real. There is death, soul, and afterlife. And only those who have faith will believe in their world.
That's also the reason why he couldn't empathize with being a human. He feels that they are not in the same world even if they stayed in the same place. Humans are people who value life and emotions. They are mortals who'll eventually leave while they are not. They don't die nor experience and feel too deep.
And the only thing that intersects them is when humans die. However, it wasn't enough as they will only leave again for another life. But why did Qin An choose to become a human even after he knew they were fragile and vulnerable?
Truthfully, he doesn't know.
It was just a sudden impulse inside him to become that way. Qin An doesn't remember why and what is the reason.
He subconsciously frowned at that thought. It was only this time that he realized some things. That's right. When he was a senior grim reaper, did he despise the fragility of a human? Did he think that being a human is too troublesome? Then, why did he choose to become a human? That wish from the Judge is something that is too rare to come. He thinks that he should have chosen to have more power or authority, or even ask for weapons and such so deal with the demons more cleanly... but he didn't.
In the end, he made a choice that seemed too out of tune for him. But why did he choose that in the first place?
Why couldn't he remember?
Qin An tried to think about the past but to his shock, it only made his head ache suddenly. He was stunned. What just happened to him?
"Classmate Qin, are you okay?" A voice from beside him made him come back to his senses. He looked at Jiang Su and nodded his head. Turning back to the mentors, this time, it was Pei Roujin who'll give him his class.
"Classmate Qin, your class will be..." Pei Roujin pauses for a second as if hesitating but quickly gathers himself and speaks, "Class F."
"??!!"
"Class F?!"
"Heh!" Chen Wei's expression brightened and a triumphant smile appeared on his lips. The arrogance and contempt was once again plastered on his eyes as he looked at Qin An. However, the young man on the stage didn't even take a glance at him and just calmly accepted his badge which is a heptagon shaped with a carved pale green two leaf clover inside.
