Outset II

The Fight Against Darkness

"Whispers of the stars"

The place is dark, the trees are dead, and the houses here are in ruins. I walked, but I didn't know where I was going. The surroundings were very cold, and there was dust swirling around. I could smell smoke around the place.

Suddenly, I felt someone behind me. When I turned to look, I was startled to see a woman. She was tall with long hair, and I was shocked to see that one of her arms was severed, her clothes were torn, and her body was dirty and covered in blood.

"Who are you, and what happened to you?" I asked her as I approached. She didn't respond, and I tried to summon my magic healing powers, but nothing happened. No matter how hard I tried to force my power out, it wouldn't come.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot help you because I cannot access my powers," I apologized to her. Suddenly, she coughed violently, and it seemed like something was expelled from her mouth. She looked pained and used her left hand to retrieve it. It was glowing as it came from her mouth.

Without saying a word, she handed me the glowing orb. When I took it, she suddenly ran away as if something was chasing her.

I looked at the glowing orb closely. "Your Highness..." I was surprised to hear someone call out, "Your Highness, Goddess Aster!" I furrowed my brow, wondering why he called me Aster. The soldier bowed before me. I noticed that the surroundings changed; everything was very bright, and birds were flying above.

The soldier walked towards me. "I'm sorry, but Aster is not my name, and I am not a goddess-" I was startled as he suddenly passed through my body.
I looked at myself and realized I was transparent and entirely blue.

I turned to see where the soldier was going and saw a woman standing in front of a large throne. "Your Highness..." The soldier bowed again. "Rise," said the queen in her beautiful voice.

When I heard her voice, it felt familiar. When she turned to the soldier, I recognized her. She was the Goddess of Stars; her name was Aster. After all our encounters in dreams, I finally descover her name.

"Speak," said the queen as she took her seat on her beautiful throne.
"Your Highness, demons are attacking the east of our territory. Many stars have been destroyed, and many have died," the soldier said, sounding frightened.

Suddenly, the white birds above began to make noise and transformed into stars.

"The stars are warning us; they are already inside our territory," the goddess said, and her skin began to glow all over her body. She closed her eyes and raised her hand as if in prayer. The soldier ran outside and transformed into a star.

I walked closer to the throne, and suddenly the atmosphere grew hot, and the ceiling exploded. I was knocked down by the force of the explosion, and large fiery particles fell towards me. They fell directly on me, but I wasn't covered because they passed right through me.

The goddess woke up and ran towards a door. I followed her and saw that she was writing on a glowing piece of paper. When she finished writing, she stepped outside. As she exited, she didn't seem to see or notice me at all. Outside, she called for a star.
