"...T-THANK YOU SO Muuuchhh..."

Watching the freshly prepared batch of tea and snacks that Muriel had prepared on the table, I could not help but feel pity knowing that the one who had made this nice spread was so delighted from merely sitting on a chair instead of kneeling on the ground.

Then again, this would not happen if I did not argue with the Witch to allow her to sit down instead of just kneeling.

"...you should have just let her suffer." The Witch spat out those words full of barbs. "...not only she barged into my domain and spread fire everywhere, but she also tried to loot my home when I was out hunting monsters."

"...that... that was..."

"Still, you want to hear her reasoning, right? Then we should allow her to speak comfortably first."

"...kind sir..."

"Well, if she does something weird or even try to lie at you... you can just off her in an instant."

"D-DON'T WORRY! I'M GOING TO TELL THE TRUTH AND ONLY THE TRUUUUTH!!"

I only said that part as a joke, but seeing the quivering angel on her chair made me feel my... sadistic urge rising. The thought of taking advantage of an innocent girl with angel-like features also served to fuel that personal urge.

As I tried to hold myself back from actually doing all that, I saw Muriel suddenly raising her hand before bringing it down with a flick of her wrist. It was a familiar gesture of opening the system settings inside a VR game... which made me inadvertently tense up.

"Ah, my apologies!" and it seemed like Muriel realized it as she began shaking her head in a panic, "I am not trying to attack you! I am just trying to connect you to my superior..."

"...why don't you just explain who you are and why you are here?"

"R-Right, I should have done that first..."

After moving her hand from left to right, another familiar gesture to close the settings that were opened, Muriel looked at me for a bit before turning to the Witch.

"A-As I introduced myself earlier, I am Muriel. I came here because I was notified that a Chaos Fragment had appeared here..."

"...Chaos Fragment... oh, was it the one from yesterday?"

"......yesterday?"

"Yes. There was a-"

"Let me guess." The Witch sudden interjection stopped me from continuing my explanation. "You are going to say you came here to defeat that whatever fragment of Chaos and would like me to cooperate with you."

Muriel widened her eyes in shock, but soon frantically nodded her head.

"That's right! I was the one dispatched to visit this Domain to do just that!!" Perhaps realizing she was too worked up, she withdrew her hands towards her body as if trying to shrink herself. "I-I thought the darkness all over the place was because Chaos' Corruption had spread all over the forest, so I tried setting things on fire to see if that was the case..."

"And you did not even hesitate to enter and rummage through all over my house."

"...that... that is because I initially thought the person living here might have died, so..."

"You even scooped up the meat stew I was slowly cooking using your dirty hand."

"...I... I didn't know that was food..."

"I think I have heard enough. Can I just kill her?"

Muriel's face became really pale when she heard that, and I could see her wings unfurling when the Witch suddenly whipped out a fireball out of thin air.
