Apples (Choji x Reader)

"[Y/n]-san aren't you going to eat that apple?" The brunette across from you on the picnic blanket cocked his head curiously as he shoved another handful of chips into his mouth. His deep black eyes regarded you carefully as you tossed him a sweet smile.

"Well I would," you explained amicably, brushing [h/c] locks from your face, "but I really hate chewing the skin. It gets stuck in my teeth and makes my jaw hurt and it just doesn't taste good."

"But I thought you loved apples." Choji set the ships next to the basket with an almost forlorn look. Although you didn't know it, he had brought apples of every color on the picnic just for you.

"Oh I do love apples!" you amended quickly, cheeks tingeing a light shade of pink. To think that the boy you'd always had a crush on had noticed such a small detail... "It's just that the skin—"

"Well I'll peel it for you." He sent you the most adorable smile you'd ever witnessed, red swirls on his cheeks serving to increase that exponentially. Before you could even protest he had whipped a freshly sharpened kunai from his weapons pouch, other hand out for you to hand him the fruit.

Blush deepening, you handed over the bright green sphere to your companion, tingles erupting in your fingertips and working their way up your arm as his skin brushed against yours. Choji made quick work of the peek, making sure to get every last bit. With a big, characteristically large smile, he handed it back to you.

"If you want me to peel more for you just let me know," he offered sweetly, flipping open the lid of the basket.

Your [e/c] eyes lit up brightly and you smiled even brighter. "Thanks Choji!"
