Hallow nimbly leaped between the trees. His head turned behind him "Betcha can't catch me" he said quickly to his sister, running further ahead back to the den! The cub that followed him, a half moon old wolf cub, followed her younger brother, who leaped across the small stream and back through the thick bushes towards home. The tight knit club trio pounced over to their mother, in the medic den which was were Autumn , the wolf pack's healer, could normally be found, who despite having paws, was great at medicine and injury treatment. The Sunlit Pack, the name of the wolf pack, lived at the top of a small valley, however the healer's was at the bottom due to the fact that there was water close nearby and medicinal plants grew there too. The unlimitlessly energised cubs sprinted around medic area, where the nursery area was.
The nursery was were the little cubs resided, and where Hallow, Berry and Thorn currently were living."Tag! Now YOU can't catch me!" Berry- the oldest of the litter- teased. Hallow, who was much more introverted and quiet, quickly but quietly answered "Yea I can, I'm already half a moon old!" "Yeah, count me in too!"Thorn boisterously joining Hallow at chasing her sister's tail and and Berry dashed off, yelping inaudibly about how they still couldn't. "Remember to play nice!" River called to her cubs. She sighed and continued grooming herself as the cubs bounced around.
Berry is wild as well as teasing and and makes sure everyone knew what's hers. Thorn is boisterous and clumsy, as well as substantially larger than Hallow, but only barley the biggest of the trio. Hallow is the runt, the smallest and the quietest, but he was treated well. He is obviously to become the next healer of the sunlit pack as he cared deeply about others and admired Autumn. Thorn and Berry thought he was a bit weird admiring the healer instead of the amazing fighters of the pack, like Frost and Sleek who Thorn and Berry idolised respectively. However, their training would not begin for moons.
The screams echoed in Hallow's ears as the blood scattered all over the battlefield and ear splitting shrieks could be heard as strong batters yelped their final breath! Terrified, Hallow slipped into the corner cowering as the murderous creature killed his friends and family with a devastating slash.The shadowy creature reared back as it saw Hallow to cut at him.
Hallow woke up in a cold sweat, shivering enormously as he remembered the dream he just had. He looked around to, much to his relief, saw his sisters curling up next to him, sandwiching him and nearly stopping him from breathing due to their size and how undersized he was due to being the runt. He wriggled out of the reed bed the cubs were sharing and went over to the very end.He knew that in a hour it would all be fine.
Thorn and Berry were chasing each other around but Hallow decided to ask his mother for something."You want to go out of the nursery on our own?" River replied, "Absolutely not. you are NOT leaving without your sisters and even with them you are only allowed to go to the nursery play area.".Hallow cowered behind a wooden reed bed frame at his mother's sharpness and eventually slipped out, remembering that he was supposed to be brave and not hide at a sharper tone. River sighed and lifted Hallow up by his scruff. She carried him over to his sisters and placed him to play with them. He went to join them and Thorn kindly told him that she was chasing Berry and Berry was running away. He decided to join them and started to play.
"Are you done yet?" Thorn asked in her gruff voice."Not yet."Hallow answered in his soothing and quiet voice which really calmed everyone own when he spoke in it. Thorn relaxed as Hallow continued grooming her. River was pleased that all her cubs were growing statically even Hallow, who was tiny but was growing at a similar pace, he was just smaller than the others. River's mind wandered to Tulip and how her cubs would be born soon. It was only in four moons but it would be by the time that all her small little cubs would be in their apprenticeship.
"Hello!"Gust-Hallow, Thorn and Berry's father came in cheerfully with a small deer in his mouth for his cubs and mate, which was immediately devoured by everyone-except Hallow, who needed his own little mouse or he'd be too scared to eat for he'd worry he was eating someone else's part of food. Gust sometimes grumbled that he had to get a mouse as well but at least he got to eat with his family so it wasn't all bad, at least for him. Hallow was actually was a little jealous, because he wanted to eat with his family, but he never spoke up.
Howling could be heard from the hills around the territory, meaning that the daylight patrol was over and the night patrol was about to start. Gust licked River on the ear and left, because it was his turn for night patrol, even though during the day he was hunting with Teasel and Sleek, as Sunlit pack wolves always hunted in mini packs of four or three so the whole pack didn't have to come. The only excursion that was really "Fun" was hunting- according to Gust, at least."It's so fun to sneak and pounce" He would say, telling them stories about hunting and battling.
Hello! I haven't been on Wattpad for a while because my computer broke, then I spent ages messing around, but I finally got a book out! I hope you enjoy this story about Hallow and his fellow wolves!
